The launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is coming soon, with the Unpacked event scheduled for January 22. Although earlier reports indicated that the anticipated Slim model might be unveiled alongside its counterparts, recent leaks suggest a different scenario. Nevertheless, a fresh leak regarding One UI 7 firmware shows that development is continuing smoothly.
Details on One UI 7 Firmware
The initial test build of One UI 7 has been found on the official server. This was uncovered by X user @Tarunvats33, and the firmware has the model number SM-S937B, which is thought to be the global version of the Galaxy S25 Slim. An alleged US variant of this smartphone appeared on Geekbench earlier and shares a similar model number.
According to the benchmark listing, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which aligns it with the rest of the series. Additional reports about this slim flagship indicate that it will be just 6.4 mm in thickness, making it thinner than other models in the lineup (Iniu 22.5W mini power bank curr. $23.29 on Amazon).
Comparison with Competitors
Even with its reported slim profile, the Galaxy S25 Slim won’t surpass the rumored iPhone 17 Air in thinness. This Apple’s expected device is anticipated to measure only 5.5 mm thick, closely resembling the latest 13-inch iPad Pro.
Returning to the Galaxy S25 Slim, it is said to bear a strong resemblance to the Plus model within the new lineup. While it will indeed be slimmer than the other models, Samsung is reportedly including a top-notch camera setup, featuring a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a 3.5x telephoto sensor that incorporates the new ALoP technology.
Anticipated Launch and Teasers
As for when it will be launched, Samsung is expected to reveal the S25 Slim sometime in May. However, there is a possibility that the company will provide a sneak peek of the device during the upcoming Unpacked event.
