The teleconverters for the forthcoming Vivo X300 Ultra are now compatible with 14 camera modes, including Live Photo and various video settings.

    Suitable for Outdoor Adventures

    For those who love outdoor activities like safari or birdwatching, the G2 Ultra telephoto extender could be appealing, as it turns the X300 Ultra’s 200MP 85mm telephoto camera into a 400mm optical zoom lens. Han Boxiao has released the first sample photo showcasing the capabilities of this 17.4x zoom (based on a standard 23mm wide-angle smartphone camera).

    The initial image was captured using the 35mm main camera, which is making its debut with an f/1.85 aperture. While it’s a tad slower than the X200 Ultra’s f/1.7 main camera, the sensor size has increased from 1/1.28 inch to 1/1.12 inch, and the resolution has risen from 50MP to 200MP. What’s truly remarkable is the subsequent 1600mm sample taken with the 400mm teleconverter at f/2.55.

    Competitive Performance

    Despite being a bit slower than the Vivo X200 Ultra’s f/2.3 telephoto setup, this arrangement is still significantly quicker than the Vivo X300 Pro’s f/2.7 telephoto lens. As the sample indicates, the optical 400mm telephoto camera continues to produce usable images, even with 4x digital zoom. Naturally, the image does start to show some degradation under close examination. Nevertheless, this 70x zoom is expected to be the pinnacle of smartphone camera capabilities in 2026; even the Oppo Find X9 Ultra falls short with its 10x telephoto camera and 300mm teleconverter.
