  • Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo: 2027 Ultra-Camera Flagship Prices & Leaks

Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo: 2027 Ultra-Camera Flagship Prices & Leaks

    Key Takeaway

    – European consumers may face high-end smartphone prices exceeding €2,000 in 2027 due to rising component costs.
    – Vivo X500 Ultra and Oppo Find X10 Ultra are expected to launch in March/April 2027, targeting a 10,000 yuan price point in China.
    – Xiaomi’s next ultra-Leica flagship (Mi 18 Ultra) development remains on hold indefinitely.
    – Chinese manufacturers (Oppo, Vivo) are pushing camera innovation (35mm main lens, 10x telephoto) but struggling with market conditions.
    – Apple’s upcoming iPhone Ultra could set a new price ceiling, influencing the entire premium segment.

    European Smartphone Market Shifts

Unlike in the US, where there is hardly any serious competition in the high-end smartphone segment aside from Apple and Samsung, Europeans were able to choose between the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the Vivo X300 Ultra or the Oppo Find X9 Ultra for the first time this year, provided they were willing to spend between about €1,500 and €2,000. While all three models are significantly cheaper as imports, consumers will have to brace for significant price increases in 2027 if the claims made by reliable leaker Digital Chat Station prove to be true.

    Upcoming Flagship Developments

On June 16, 2026, he posted on Weibo that development of the next generation of flagship cameras from Oppo and Vivo is on track, with the launch of the Vivo X500 Ultra and the Oppo Find X10 Ultra expected in March and April 2027, respectively, barring any unforeseen circumstances. The leaker anticipates that Vivo will stick with the 35mm main camera and a high-quality camera setup across all focal lengths, while Oppo is likely to further develop its 10x telephoto lens. However, as the Xiaomi Mi 18 Ultra demonstrates, market conditions — with sharply rising component prices — are anything but ideal for manufacturers.

    Market Conditions and Delays

According to previous hints, the development of the next ultra-Leica flagship has been put on hold until further notice, and a recent comment from Kartikey Singh on X confirms that this remains unchanged. Whether Chinese consumers are willing to absorb significant price increases in the high-end market remains to be seen. According to Digital Chat Station, Oppo and Vivo appear to be aiming for a price point of 10,000 yuan, which is roughly equivalent to €1,273.

    Pricing Comparisons and Predictions

For comparison, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra launched in China at 7,500 yuan and the Vivo X300 Ultra at 7,000 yuan, both with 12/256 GB of storage. Comments on Weibo question whether the 10,000 yuan price tag will apply to the entry-level configuration or the 16/1TB variant. Even in the best-case scenario, it will likely be more expensive, as the top-of-the-line model currently costs up to 9,300 yuan, respectively. Hence, the next ultra-camera flagship phones may fall into the foldable price range in 2027, which could also mean prices exceeding €2,000 in Europe.

    Potential Market Impact

Apple could well pave the way here, as it is expected to unveil the most expensive iPhone of all time with the iPhone Ultra. Consumers and industry watchers alike are left speculating about the final pricing structures, with many hoping the baseline configs remain accessible. The shift towards higher costs could redefine the premium segment in both China and Europe, potentially narrowing the gap between traditional flagships and foldables.

  • Best Vacation Phone with Macro Camera, Avoid Sand

    Key Takeaway

    – Versatile Hasselblad camera system with ultra-wide to dual telephoto lenses
    – Excellent macro and 50MP periscope 10x optical zoom for close-ups and distant subjects
    – Long-lasting 7,050 mAh silicon-carbon battery for all-day use
    – Bright OLED display but weaker in direct sunlight
    – Starts at ~$1,200 from Trading Shenzhen

Typically, many people are drawn to the great outdoors during their summer vacation. But whether for extended hikes or spontaneous discovery tours in the city, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is the ideal companion for capturing the best photographic moments. Prices for the flagship start at around $1,200 for our review sample from Trading Shenzhen. You can find all the information, photos and video recordings in our review.

    Hasselblad Cameras and Versitile Zoom

The Find X9 Ultra is particularly versatile thanks to its Hasselblad cameras and wide range of focal lengths. From an ultra-wide-angle camera to two telephoto lenses, everything is on board and delivers really good photo quality. However, the most interesting things are often in the distance or very close up. One feature that often gets lost among the multitude of features on Ultra smartphones is their macro quality. The Find X9 Ultra also performs very well here, and the Oppo flagship has everything it needs for top-class close-ups.

    Macro and Telephoto Comparason

To better evaluate the photo quality of our macro shots, we also used a Vivo X300 Ultra for comparason. We were also impressed by the 50-megapixel periscope lens with the 10x optical zoom. If you want to take pictures of distant subjects on your vacation trip, the Find X9 Ultra is probably the best companion at the moment. This is especially true because the Oppo flagship can be equipped with a teleconverter.

But its not just the camera that makes the Oppo smartphone a vacation pro. A long-lasting battery is crucial for long trips so that users can easily get through the day even with intensive use. In our WLAN battery test, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s 7,050 mAh silicon-carbon battery lasts a very long time. The bright OLED display also remains easy to read outdoors for the most part.

    Display Limitations in Sunlight

However, the Find X9 Ultra is weaker in direct sunlight – especially at the height of summer. If you only go on beach, you should read our review and consider the disadvantages of display dimming before making a purchase. The Oppo flagship offers a premium experiance for photographers but has this one notable comprimise when used outdoors in bright conditions.

  • Oppo Find X9 Ultra vs Vivo X300 Ultra: Best Value

    Key Takeaway

    – Oppo Find X9 Ultra wins on battery life, audio quality, and connectivity speed.
    – Vivo X300 Ultra has a superior display, better cameras, and more powerful haptics.
    – Oppo runs cooler under load, while Vivo’s software and brightness control are more polished.
    – Vivo is significantly more expensive in Europe (€2,000 vs. €1,500), but prices drop as imports.
    – Choice depends on priorities: performance & endurance (Oppo) vs. display & photography (Vivo).

Comparing the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra

In our reviews of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra, both smartphones, powered with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, present themselves as strong companions for everyday use. However, a direct comparison between the Oppo and Vivo phones reveals that both flagships have different strengths and weaknesses and therefore appeal to different types of users. Their pricing also realy differs right from the start.

    Pricing and Storage Configurations

There are already clear price differences. In Europe, the Find X9 Ultra is available for an RRP of just under €1,500, while the X300 Ultra is more expensive. The RRP for the only storage option with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, is just under €2,000. As imports, however, the prices already start noticeably lower for both flagships (around $1,100). This makes the Oppo a considerably more affordable option, but the Vivo’s premium price tag may be justified by some high-end features.

    Audio and Battery Performance

The difference between the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra is clear when it comes to audio quality. The Oppo phone delivers more powerful and balanced speakers and the drivers offer more depth, more stable highs as well as a significantly more linear frequency response in our measurements. The SPL value is also around 4.5 dBA higher than that of the Vivo phone, which sounds flatter in direct comparison and drops more sharply at high frequencies. Another advantage of the Find X9 Ultra is its battery life.

The 7,050 mAh silicon-carbon battery lasts over five hours longer in the Wi-Fi battery test than the 6,600 mAh battery of the Vivo X300 Ultra. This is a difference that is definitely noticeable in everyday use. The slightly lower temperature development also speaks in favor of the Oppo flagship. Both top phones struggle with the high heat output of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 under continuous load, but the Vivo phone reaches almost 55 °C in our measurements, while the Find X9 Ultra’s case remains slightly cooler at around 50 °C.

    Connectivity and Storage Speed

The Find X9 Ultra is also ahead in terms of connectivity and storage performance. It even sets new records in our Wi-Fi measurements, while the Vivo flagship only achieves around half the speed. However, the approximately 2,000 Mbit/s of the Vivo phone is more than sufficient in everyday use, so the Find X9 Ultra’s advantage is more theoretical. The situation is similar with UFS storage. Here, the Oppo flagship is almost twice as fast in our review but the practical added value is likely to be rather small. For most users, the Vivo’s slower speeds will not be a hinderance.

Display and Camera Advantages of the Vivo

On the other hand, the Vivo X300 Ultra has noticeable advantages when it comes to the display and cameras. The 6.82-inch OLED panel is significantly brighter in everyday use than the Oppo phone’s 144 Hz screen. While the Find X9 Ultra only achieves around half of the advertised maximum brightness and cannot maintain it for long, the Vivo phone remains stable in our measurements and impresses with better automatic brightness control. Oppo’s automatic brightness control often sets it too low in everyday use. The vibration motor also seems more powerful on the Vivo phone, a point that is often underestimated in everyday use.

The Vivo X300 Ultra is also ahead in terms of camera quality. The ultra-wide-angle camera delivers visibly better results thanks to its larger sensor, and the main camera also benefits from Vivo’s truly excellent, probably industry-leading software. The Oppo Find X9 Ultra can keep up here, but in our opinion, it does not quite reach the level of the Vivo flagship. On the other hand, the Oppo flagship offers practical special buttons, including for camera functions, which the Vivo model completely lacks.

  • Bleak Future for Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Phones

    Key Takeaway

    – The Oppo Find X9 Ultra overheats and throttles severely under load, halving its performance in 3DMark stress tests.
    – Its predecessor, the Find X8 Ultra, handled heat better and sometimes outperformed the new model in sustained benchmarks.
    – The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip’s high clock speeds (up to 4.6 GHz) generate excessive waste heat that passive cooling cannot manage.
    – Passive cooling in thin flagship phones is reaching its limits, raising concerns for future chips like the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 (expected >5 GHz).
    – In everyday use the throttling may not be noticeable, but it shows that raw SoC gains are negated by thermal constraints.

First Impressions of the Find X9 Ultra

Our assessment of the Find X9 Ultra offers little to critisize about of the current flagship smartphone, as Oppo has put together a complete package that is hard to beat (prices start at around $1,300 as an import). However, compared with our last year’s review, it becomes clear that even the Find X9 Ultra, with its built-in Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, has its problems with thermal output.

    Thermal Throttling Becomes a Problem

In our review, the Oppo phone sometimes throttled massively due to the high waste heat resulting from the Qualcomm SoC’s high clock speed of up to 4.6 GHz. In the 3DMark stress tests, the performance of the Find X9 Ultra was halved. This means that the final big hope in the smartphone market for taming the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has fizzled out.

Comparing Heat Management With Last Year

Last year, with the Find X8 Ultra, Oppo was one of the few manufacturers, if not the only one, to get the heat problem of modern Qualcomm SoCs well under control. This level of cooling performance is unfortunately no longer available in the current generation. This even means that the Find X9 Ultra can deliver less performance in the 3DMark stress tests than its predecessor. Due to the significant drop in performance after a short time, the increase in SoC power of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 compared to the previous year’s Snapdragon 8 Elite has evaporated. In some cases, the Find X8 Ultra achieved 20 percent higher values in the Wild Life stress test than its successor.

    The Gap With Samsung Flagships

The discrepancy with a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is even more serious. Is this a problem in everyday use? Probably not, but it highlights the increasingly severe challenges smartphone manufacturers face when relying on passive cooling systems to dissipate the substantial heat generated, in this case by the Oryon CPU cores, within such thin chassis of flagship phones.

What This Means for Future Chips

Since the cooling performance of the successor to the Find X8 Ultra is now also reaching its limits, this does not bode well for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, which is expected to clock well above 5 GHz. At the latest with our review of the Find X9 Ultra, it becomes clear that hopes for passively cooled smartphones are fading – they simply cannot cope with the massive heat output, let alone make the additional performance usable in everyday scenarios

  • Oppo Find X9 Ultra Camera Review: Smarter Than 1-Inch Sensors

Oppo Find X9 Ultra Camera Review: Smarter Than 1-Inch Sensors

    Key Takeaway

    – The Find X9 Ultra’s new 200MP Sony sensor offers better dynamic range and detail than the Find X8 Ultra’s 1-inch sensor.
    – The Find X9 Ultra has a significant edge in high-magnification zoom quality.
    – The Find X8 Ultra performs slightly better in absolute darkness (less grain).
    – The Find X9 Ultra is roughly $400 more expensive than the Find X8 Ultra.

    Oppo’s Camera Flagships Compared

The camera smartphones from Oppo have been among the most exciting camera phones in the Android ecosystem for several years now. With the Find X9 Ultra, the manufacturer is now launching a new flagship with outstanding hardware. But its predecessor, the Find X8 Ultra, still claims to deliver the best photo quality.

    Daily Performance and Price Differences

In this comparison, we take a look at how the Hasselblad cameras of the two Oppo flagships perform in everyday use. Does the Find X9 Ultra really deliver the better photos? Or is the 2025 model with its 1-inch sensor more convincing after all? In terms of price, the Find X8 Ultra starts at around $800, while its successor, as an import, currently starts at around €1,037, making it roughly $400 more expensive.

    The Sony Sensor Advantage

Compared to the Find X8 Ultra, the Sony camera in the Find X9 Ultra achieves a significantly higher light yield — at least that’s what the manufacturer says. According to Oppo, the increase is ten percent for the main camera. However, the stacked sensor “only” measures 1/1.12 inches and is therefore smaller than the 1-inch format of the Find X8 Ultra. On the other hand, the Sony Lytia 901 with 200 MPix offers four times the resolution and therefore significantly more scope for pixel binning to reduce image noise in low light.

    Real-World Photo Results

The photo results, as well as the shots in the review, speak in favor of the Find X9 Ultra’s new sensor. The photos offer slightly more dynamic range and, thanks to variable pixel binning, the images also show a little more detail than the Find X8 Ultra’s. Only in absolute darkness (book motif) does the 200-MPix camera produce slightly more grain than the 2025 flagship with its 1-inch-format lens.

How to View Full Resolution Images

In order to better differentiate image details between the two top Oppo smartphones, all image files can bei open in full resolution. Click the corresponding photos to open them.

    Zoom Performance Gains

Apart from the main cameras, the Find X9 Ultra has made significant gains in terms of photo quality, especially when zooming in at high magnification. You can find all the camera samples and information about the new Oppo high-end phone in the full review.

  • Nothing Phone Pro 4a Zoom Camera Lies Exposed: Users Claim Review Bias

Nothing Phone Pro 4a Zoom Camera Lies Exposed: Users Claim Review Bias

    Key Takeaway

    – Clarity in marketing: Distinguish optical vs. digital zoom in primary headlines to avoid misleading implications about zoom capabilities.
    – Accuracy over hype: Emphasize real, measurable optical zoom performance and image quality rather than数字 zoom figures reliant on cropping and AI upscaling.
    – Consumer trust: Transparent zoom specs can reduce backlash and build trust, especially for flagship camera performance.

Nothing (X) controversy over zoom marketing sparks debate

Nothing (X) has found itself tangled in a online fuss after a promotional post claimed the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro sports the “most powerful zoom on the market” with a 140x capability. The post quickly drew attention, and not in a good way, as many folks accused it of exaggeration and misleading marketing, especially since the number clearly points to digital zoom rather than a true optical magnification. The reaction across social media was swift and varied, yet the tone skewed negative from the outset, casting doubt on the brand’s honesty and product clarity.

Mixed perceptions emerge from pricing and spec details

Pricing and specification details have been quoted in discussions surrounding the phone, with some users noting that the 140x claim is not backed by comparable hardware fundamentals across the market. Critics argue that digital zoom, heavily dependent on software crop and AI upscaling, cannot be equated with optical prowess, making the marketing claim feel hollow for serious photographers who value real magnification. This disparity between impression and technical reality became a central talking point in the online discourse.

Optical versus digital zoom becomes the focal point

The thread of commentary underscores a broader industry trend: the distinction between optical zoom, which relies on physical lens movement, and digital zoom, which magnifies an image after cropping. The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro reportedly offers a modest 3.5x optical zoom through a periscope telephoto lens, a figure pale in comparison to competitors. Yet enthusiasts point out that even with similar sensor sizes, the optics still play a crucial role in image quality at high zoom levels, revealing the limits of the marketing number.

Comparative tech talk highlights true leaders

In this dialogue, some tech-savvy users reference the Oppo Find X9 Ultra as a benchmark for zoom capabilities, noting its 120x digital zoom but pairing it with a compelling 20x lossless zoom through a dedicated periscope system. The debate thus shifted from bare figures to practical performance, where the presence of a periscope lens and optical quality can dramatically influence real-world outcomes. This comparison has intensified scrutiny of the Nothing offering and its emphasis on an exaggerated digital zoom figure.

    Public sentiment questions marketing clarity

Public sentiment leans toward a belief that brands should clearly separate optical and digital zoom in primary marketing headlines to prevent confusion. Viewers argue that presenting a single, large figure without context misleads consumers who might assume true optical magnification rather than a digitally enhanced result. The controversy thus expands beyond a single post to broader concerns about transparency in promotional material and the responsibilities of tech brands toward their audiences.

Save Up to 35% on Oppo Find X9 Ultra with Hasselblad Camera Kit Import

    Key Takeaway

    1. Purchasing the EU model offers extended warranty, support, trade-in options, extras like a tablet or smartwatch, and a €100 discount.
    2. The global version is cheaper through import channels and available with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, though not in white.
    3. China models lack eSIM support and some Google apps but support key LTE and 5G bands and can be set to German language. Imported devices usually have only a one-year warranty.

Options for Purchase and Benefits of Official Models

Currently, there are many ways to buy the Oppo Find X9 Ultra. If you go for the official EU model, like from Oppo’s German online store, you gonna get a better deal with longer EU warranty support, trade-in options for older phones, and maybe some cool extras such as a tablet or a smartwatch. Plus, there’s a €100 discount off the original €1,699 price with the promo code FINDX9USAVE100. However, the global version of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is just a bit cheaper and can be acquired through import channels, which we already talk about few days ago. This version of the phone offers 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, but it’s not available in white, unlike the EU version.

Color Variants and Pricing in China

Now, the white color is exclusive for mainland China, so if someone wants Oppo’s flagship Hasselblad camera in this specific finish, they will have to import the China model. Compared to early prices, the China model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage can be bought starting at €1,097 on TradingShenzhen. Other retailers like AverageDad is asking around €1,116 for the same, and WondaMobile lists it at about €1,166. The 512GB model, which is comparable to the EU version, costs about €1,157 at TradingShenzhen, whereas the 16/512GB variant goes for around €1,257. The most premium option, 16GB/1TB, is priced roughly at €1,327.

Optional Hasselblad Photography Kit and Import Considerations

Many stores sell the Hasselblad Photography Kit, which includes a case, adapter, and 300mm tele extender. This kit works with both the global and China variants of the phone, making it a versatile accessory. At TradingShenzhen, this kit is priced around €377, which makes it the cheapest among all options we checked. Others like Trinity Electronics also sell it, but we didn’t verify all sellers on platforms like AliExpress. Buyers should check our initial hands-on review of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra to understand its features before buying.

Worth It to Import and Compatibility Issues

Deciding if importing the China version is worth it when the global version starting at about €1,400 is available is really up to each buyer. But, remember, China ROM variants have some restrictions, with the most important being the lack of eSIM support. Compatibility with Wear OS smartwatches might also be affected, but Android Auto should still work. In Europe, network features like LTE band 20 and key 5G bands are supported, which is a good thing. Oppo and Vivo devices even allow you to set the system language to German. Though some Google apps such as Quick Share are missing on Chinese ROMs, workarounds can enable Google Assistant, like Google Gemini, through certain methods. Keep in mind, imported devices generally come with only a one-year warranty, no matter if you’re buying the global or Chinese version.
