    At this time, details on pricing and when it will launch are not available. However, we don’t think it will take long for the product to come out after the Steam Machine is available. There is even a possibility that it could be released before the Steam Machine itself, although that would be a bit silly. It’s encouraging to witness accessory makers taking the lead on Steam Machine add-ons, especially since there is already a vibrant market for Steam Deck accessories.

    User Preferences

    Before this announcement, Jsaux conducted a poll on their subreddit to find out if users preferred the display to be e-ink, dot matrix, or LCD. From the render shared now, it looks like Jsaux has decided to focus on e-ink and LCD for the Steam Machine displays, although dot matrix does have its own unique charm. The current LCD render reminds us of the very blocky interface of the Nintendo GameCube BIOS and its internal clock/calendar. Given the number of “GabeCube” jokes circulating online, it wouldn’t surprise us if this was a deliberate reference.
