    Sucker Punch Studios revealed a new free DLC for Ghost of Yotei during today’s State of Play event, introducing a complete online co-op experience. The DLC, titled Legends, will be accessible at no cost to all PS5 players starting March 10 as part of patch 1.5.

    What Legends Brings

    Legends introduces an online multiplayer mode where players can join forces with friends to battle supernatural versions of the Yotei Six. The emphasis is on cooperative gameplay rather than player-versus-player, with everything crafted for teamwork against tough foes.

    Mission Types in Legends

    Legends features three primary types of missions. The first is Survival, allowing you to team up with up to three other players to fend off waves of enemies across four distinct maps. Your main objective is to seize control of the map; once achieved, you can trigger a Blessing that enhances your combat abilities. However, if control is lost, a Curse activates, increasing the challenge.

    The second mode is Story, designed for pairs of players. This mode consists of a total of 12 missions, and every three missions unlocks an exclusive Incursion. Incursions are larger four-player attacks on strongholds associated with the Yotei Six. When you finish a stronghold, you’ll face a supernatural version of either Spider, Oni, Kitsune, or Snake.

    Upcoming Raid Mode

    A third significant mode is set to release later in April. This mode is called Raid, which will allow players to confront the remaining two members of the Yotei Six: Dragon and Lord Saito.

    Players can select from four distinct classes: Samurai, Archer, Mercenary, and Shinobi. Each class has its own core weapons, including katanas and ranged options, while also specializing in unique combat styles. For example, the Samurai wields the ōdachi and offers a broad range of weapons, while the Archer can use a spear and carry additional ranged options. The Mercenary is all about dual katanas and utility skills, and the Shinobi emphasizes stealth, utilizing the kusarigama.
