Redmi's 2025 Phone to Feature Huge 7,500mAh Battery Leak

Redmi’s 2025 Phone to Feature Huge 7,500mAh Battery Leak

There’s a noticeable competition brewing in the smartphone realm, shifting from the once-dominant fast charging race. This year, various Chinese brands have unveiled phones equipped with larger batteries than prior iterations. A standout example is the recently launched OnePlus Ace 5, featuring the highest battery capacity ever seen in a OnePlus device. It seems that this battery competition is set to persist into 2025.

The Rising Capacity

Rumor has it that Redmi is developing a new smartphone boasting a battery around 7,500mAh. Presently, the Redmi K80 holds the title for the largest battery capacity in their lineup, with a 6,550mAh battery. This information about the massive battery was initially shared back in August by Digital Chat Station, which has been the source for this latest scoop.

Exploring Charging Solutions

In a Weibo post from late August, the leaker disclosed that Xiaomi was evaluating multiple configurations of high-capacity batteries combined with rapid charging methods. One of the setups mentioned included a 6,000mAh battery capable of charging at 120W, which was utilized in the Redmi K80 Pro. Another option involved a 6,500mAh battery with a 100W fast charging capability, while the K80’s 6,550mAh battery charges at 90W. The leak also hinted at a 7,500mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging and a 7,000mAh variant charging at 120W.

Future Launch and Specs

The anticipated Redmi smartphone featuring the 7,500mAh battery is said to support 90W fast charging, and this combination is expected to be featured in the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. As noted by Digital Chat Station, the device will come with a robust processor and a flat display. Some reports suggest that the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 processor, which has eight Cortex-A725 CPU cores, will power it. However, since the Dimensity 8400 is confirmed for the Redmi Turbo 4, it’s likely that the pro version may utilize a different processor. Additional insights shared by the leaker mention a competent main rear camera and a potential launch window in H1 2025.

If you’re curious about when Xiaomi's main smartphone series might introduce a 7,000mAh or larger battery, Digital Chat Station has indicated that there are currently no such plans. The Xiaomi 15 Pro comes with a 6,100mAh battery that charges at 90W using a wired connection and 50W with wireless charging. This capacity not only outmatches many competitors, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pixel 9 Pro XL (128GB currently priced at $849 on Amazon), but it also offers significantly quicker charging times.
