Redmi is reportedly preparing the launch of its Redmi Note 14 series of smartphones. A recent leak suggests that the series might feature the brand-new Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor.
Redmi Note 14 Pro Series and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Speculation
Tipster Digital Chat Station has indicated that the forthcoming Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip will power a device with a dual-edge curved display, providing a 1.5K resolution and a 50-megapixel triple camera system with a flagship lens design. These specifications are likely associated with one of the upcoming Redmi Note 14 Pro series models.
Additionally, DCS mentioned that this device will compete against another featuring the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip and a Sony IMX882 (LYT-600) 3X periscope camera, possibly the Realme 13 Pro+. Therefore, it seems that the Redmi Note 14 Pro or 14 Pro+ with the SD7sG3 might be pitted against the Realme 13 Pro+.
Performance and Geekbench Scores
The image above shows the alleged Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 achieving 1175 points in the single-core test and 3157 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. The test unit for this new chip featured 16 GB of RAM and ran on Android 14 OS.
The Geekbench listing indicates that the chip comprises one prime CPU core clocked at 2.50GHz, three CPU cores at 2.40GHz, and four CPU cores at 1.80GHz. Graphics are powered by the Adreno 810 GPU. The "volcano" codename seen in the listing is believed to refer to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, reportedly carrying the model number SM7635.
Upcoming Launch Event
In terms of performance, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is expected to outperform last year’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 but will be less powerful compared to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 and Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipsets.
Qualcomm has recently announced a launch event set for July 30 in India, although specific details about the event have not been confirmed yet. It is anticipated that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 will be unveiled at this event.
