Powkiddy K56 Handheld with Helio G99 Leaks, Likely Fake

A recent leak has revealed specifications and renders for an anticipated gaming handheld purported to be the Powkiddy K56. Initial details suggest that this device aims to rival the AYANEO Pocket Micro, KT Pocket R1, and ZPG A1 Unicorn gaming handhelds. However, Powkiddy has dismissed these rumors as false.

The new retro gaming handheld is set to follow the Powkiddy X55, which was launched in 2023. Additionally, Powkiddy recently introduced the V10. The Powkiddy V10 marks the brand’s latest gaming handheld release since the RGB20SX, which is currently priced at $102.99 on Amazon. The leak, shared by Retro Handhelds, includes information about the future gaming handheld named K56. The K56 branding suggests significant upgrades from the X55. The Powkiddy K56 sports a horizontal layout with dual joysticks, two sets of shoulder buttons, and ABXY and d-pad buttons highlighted in orange.

Design and Features

The forthcoming Powkiddy gaming handheld features active cooling with a small vent on its rear. Measuring 212 x 90 x 17 mm, its ergonomic design facilitates comfortable gaming. The device includes a variety of ports: a 3.5 mm audio jack, a MicroSD card reader, a mini HDMI port, and two USB Type-C ports.

Performance and Competitors

Reportedly, the Powkiddy K56 will be equipped with a Helio G99 chipset. This MediaTek Helio G99 chipset is found in mid-range smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G. If true, the K56 could match the performance levels of the AYANEO Pocket Micro, ZPG A1 Unicorn, and the KT Pocket R1. Currently, only the KT Pocket R1 is available for purchase.

Information regarding the release date and pricing for the Powkiddy K56 remains unavailable. Unfortunately, this device might never materialize, as Powkiddy has clarified that the K56 is not an actual product under development.
