The ASUS ROG Ally X handheld gaming console is set to debut in China on July 13. This information was disclosed by ASUS in an official statement about its forthcoming product launch event. Initially introduced to the global market in June, the ROG Ally X features the powerful AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme CPU and boasts an impressive 80Wh battery capacity. This new gaming handheld presents several enhancements over its predecessor, including a memory capacity of 24GB and an M.2 2280 solid-state drive slot.

Enhanced Specifications and Features

Announced just last month, the ASUS ROG Handheld X succeeds the first-generation ASUS ROG Handheld. It offers twice the battery capacity and doubles the hard drive space to 1TB compared to its initial version. The memory has also seen an upgrade to 24GB LPDDR5X-7500. Additionally, the joystick module now has an extended lifespan of 5 million activations, compared to the previous 2 million. The joystick’s spring mechanism feels tighter and is easily replaceable. The D-Pad cross-key design has been improved to provide clearer feedback.

Modern Connectivity and Cooling System

The ASUS ROG Handheld X includes two Type-C interfaces on top, replacing the XG Mobile graphics card slot from the original model. One USB-C port supports USB4, while the other is rated USB 3.2 Gen 2. Both interfaces are compatible with PD 3.0 charging and DisplayPort 1.4. The handheld features an upgraded zero-gravity cooling system capable of dissipating up to 30W of heat. The fan in the cooling system is smaller, but it moves more air. The ASUS ROG Handheld X gaming console is priced at $799.
