Apple Watch Ultra to Get Display Upgrades and New Launch Timeline
Apple launched the second-generation Watch Ultra in September this year, bringing incremental upgrades to its predecessor. However, according to a notable Apple analyst, the Cupertino-based tech giant will not be announcing the third-generation of the Watch Ultra next year. Instead, Apple is reportedly planning to upgrade the display on the next edition of the Watch Ultra.
Upgraded Display and Screen Size
As per Taiwanese research firm TrendForce, Apple plans to introduce a MicroLED display on the next version of the Watch Ultra, replacing the OLED panel found on current models. Additionally, the screen size on the third-generation Watch Ultra will be increased to 2.12 inches, up from 1.91 inches on the Watch Ultra 2.
MicroLED display panels offer several advantages over OLED counterparts, including being thinner, lighter, and more power-efficient, while also providing increased brightness.
