Following the recent launch of the Oppo A3x, Oppo seems to be preparing for another addition to their A-series: the Oppo A80. As reported by 91Mobiles, official-looking renders and specifications of this upcoming phone have surfaced.
Based on the report, the Oppo A80 might be a rebranded version of the Oppo A3 Energy Edition that was recently launched in China.
Design and Display
The leak suggests that the A80 5G will feature a flat-edged design with a punch-hole display. The back of the phone will have a dual-camera setup accompanied by an LED ring, similar to the A3 Energy Edition. The device is expected to come in Black and Purple color options, with a Green variant possibly available globally.
The display will be a 6.67-inch HD+ panel offering a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.
Performance and Camera
Under the hood, the Oppo A80 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
In terms of cameras, the phone will house a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens likely for depth information at the rear. For selfies, there will be an 8MP front-facing camera.
Battery and Software
The A80 5G will come with a 5,100mAh battery supporting 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. It will run on ColorOS 14.0.1, which is based on Android 14. Security features will include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and the phone will have an IP54 rating for basic dust and water resistance.
Additional Features and Pricing
Other standard features will include a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, NFC, and Wi-Fi 5. The phone will also boast several AI features, such as AI Eraser for photo cleanup, AI LinkBoost for network optimization, and AI Charging protection to prolong battery life.
As per the report, the Oppo A80 5G will be priced at €249 (approximately Rs 22,566) for the 8GB/256GB variant in Europe. The official launch date has not been announced yet, but we will keep you informed with any new updates.
