The OnePlus 13 was unveiled in China on October 31. A new “macro close-up” function has been introduced, thanks to a recent system update. This feature allows users to take extreme close-up photos easily, enhancing the already remarkable camera system of the OnePlus 13.
Gradual Rollout of Macro Feature
OnePlus has announced that the macro close-up feature is now accessible to users following a device update. After the update is installed, users can access the camera, press the “little petal” icon, and start taking macro photos. The rollout of this update is happening in phases, and OnePlus assures that all compatible devices will have it by November 17. To check for the update, users should go to Settings > System and Updates > Software Update or select the Apply for trial option under software update settings for a quicker upgrade.
Impressive Camera Specifications
The OnePlus 13 is noted for its strong camera specifications. It features a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50MP LYT-600 periscope telephoto lens that uses a multi-prism reflective structure, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120° field of view powered by the Samsung S5KJN5 sensor. To further enhance imaging, OnePlus continues working with Hasselblad for image processing, and the phone includes “AI De-glare” tech to minimize reflections and “Shadowless Snap” for capturing motion, similar to the Find X8 series.

It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which provides a 45% increase in single-core and multi-core performance, along with a 40% improvement in GPU performance. OnePlus has included its own Tidal Engine to boost the gaming experience and promises users up to four years of seamless performance. The device also incorporates the second-generation Tiangong Cooling System Pro with a 9925mm² vapor chamber for efficient temperature control.
