October 2023 Phone Launches: Vivo X200, Xiaomi 15, Honor Magic 7

October is shaping up to be a hectic month for smartphone makers in China as they get ready to launch their new flagship phones, which will be powered by the latest MediaTek and Qualcomm chips. A recent report suggested that Xiaomi might unveil its Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Xiaomi 15 series on October 23. Yet, new information has emerged suggesting that the launch could actually take place on October 20.

Upcoming Releases

According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital, Vivo is expected to launch its X200 series on October 14, with Xiaomi's 15 series following closely on October 20. Additionally, Honor plans to showcase its flagship Honor Magic 7 on October 30. The Vivo X200 series has already appeared on JD.com, a Chinese retail site, lending more credibility to the October 14 launch date. With these launch dates approaching fast, official announcements for Xiaomi and Honor's flagship devices should be coming soon.

Expected Specifications for Xiaomi 15 Series

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is rumored to have a 120Hz 2K display, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and a thickness of 8.5mm. There will also be a special Titanium Edition, similar to last year’s offering. In terms of camera capabilities, the Pro model is expected to feature a main sensor of 50MP with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/2.5, alongside a 50MP ultrawide lens and a Sony IMX858 telephoto sensor that provides 5x optical zoom.

On the other hand, the base model is anticipated to come with a sizable 6,000mAh battery and an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. Both models are set to support 90W wired fast charging and will run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite (Snapdragon 8 Gen 4) chipset.

Features to Expect from Honor Magic 7 Series

The Magic 7 series is expected to be equipped with the forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipsets. The standard version will likely feature a 1.5K display, while the Pro model will boast a 2K display. Both devices are set to come with a triple-camera setup on the back, which includes a primary 50MP Omnivision OV50H sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera that could be the Sony IMX882, and a third sensor that might either be 50 megapixels or 200 megapixels (Samsung HP3).
