A few months back, Motorola revealed its newest flip phone generation. This lineup included the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra. However, it appears that a more affordable option called the Razr 50s may be coming soon. Let’s take a closer look.
Motorola Razr 50s: Affordable Flip Phone on the Horizon
The Razr 50s first appeared online in September 2024, thanks to the HDR10+ certification. This model was officially announced later that month after being made available for reservation through Softbank. Because of this, the Motorola Razr 50s showcased its design in three colors: Koala Grey, Sand Cream, and Spritz Orange. Although the Razr 50s is already on sale in Japan, its launch in other parts of the world is still uncertain.
Flip Phone Spotted on Google Play Console
Recently, the upcoming flip phone was listed on the Google Play Console Supported Products List (via TheTechOutlook). Sadly, this online database does not provide any specific details about the phone, such as its availability or specifications. Nonetheless, it suggests that a global release might be imminent. The listing confirms that Motorola's new flip phone is identified with the 'aito' codename, while also affirming the Razr 50s name.
Specifications of the Razr 50s
The earlier launch in Japan gives us insight into what to expect from this budget-friendly foldable phone. The Razr 50s boasts a 6.9-inch OLED foldable main display and a 3.6-inch OLED cover screen. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X processor, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device runs Android 14 out of the box and is equipped with a 4,200mAh battery. On the rear, there's a dual camera setup of 50MP + 13MP, while the front houses a 32MP selfie camera. Additional features include Bluetooth 5.4, an IPX8 rating, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
