The iQOO Z9 Turbo Endurance Edition is set to be officially launched on January 3, 2025, in China. This phone is an enhanced version of the Z9 Turbo, which was revealed in April this year in the same region. According to the brand's announcement, the Endurance Edition will come with four key upgrades.
Key Improvements in the Endurance Edition
The iQOO Z9 Turbo and the new Endurance Edition are nearly the same devices. However, the new model features a bigger battery, improved GPS capabilities, and a fresh color option. While the Z9 Turbo had a 6,000mAh battery, the Endurance Edition will boast a 6,400mAh battery. Additionally, this new version will support dual-frequency GPS, allowing it to pick up signals from two different frequency bands, which will improve the accuracy and dependability of location services.
Software and Color Variants
The original model came with Android 14 and OriginOS 4, but the Endurance Edition will operate on the updated OriginOS 5. It remains uncertain if it will feature Android 15 or stick with 14. All other specifications appear to be the same between the two models. The standard Z9 Turbo was offered in black, white, and mint colors, but the Endurance Edition will introduce a new Sail Blue shade instead of mint.
Expected Specifications of the Endurance Edition
Rumored specifications for the Z9 Turbo Endurance Edition include a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The device will sport a 16-megapixel front-facing camera alongside a dual-camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS and an 8-megapixel secondary camera.
The Z9 Turbo Endurance Edition is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and will feature a 6,400mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging. It may also come equipped with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and as much as 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
