Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Receives Android 14 Update

Samsung has been making impressive progress in rolling out the latest OneUI 6.1-based Android 14 update. Not only have premium flagship devices received the update, but mid-range and budget offerings have as well. Now, the Galaxy S21 FE is getting the Android 14 OS update, but only for carrier-locked models in the US region.

Limited to Verizon’s Network

According to SamMobile, the OneUI 6.1-based Android 14 update is currently rolling out on the Galaxy S21 FE exclusively for Verizon customers in the US. Unlocked models and devices locked to other carriers are not eligible for the Android 14 upgrade at this time. However, users should not be concerned, as a wider rollout is expected in the near future.

Firmware Version and Security Patch

For Galaxy S21 FE owners on Verizon, the Android 14 update comes with the firmware version G990USQU9FWK5 or G990U2SQU7FWK5. In addition to the OS update, the latest firmware also includes the November 2023 security patch. To check for the Android 14 update, users can go to Settings > Software Update > Check for updates > Download and Install if it’s available.

Completing the Rollout for Galaxy S21 Series

With the Galaxy S21 FE now receiving the Android 14 update, it appears that the rollout for the Galaxy S21 series is now complete, at least in the US region. The S21 FE initially launched with Android 12 OS and has now been updated to the latest version. Users can expect two more Android OS updates for their smartphones.
