    The Samsung Premiere 8K projector has recently gained recognition as the first projector to receive certification from the 8K Association (8KA).     For a projector to be certified, it needs to prove its capability of achieving an 8K resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 pixels. The certification process also evaluates the projector’s 8K upscaling technology, audio system quality, and support for high dynamic range (HDR).

    Features and Debut

    The Premiere 8K projector, labeled by Samsung as its “flagship premium” model, was first unveiled at CES 2023 and showcased again at CES 2024. This DLP projector utilizes a triple laser light source that can deliver brightness of up to 4,500 ISO lumens. Thanks to its ultra-short throw (UST) ratio, it can project a stunning 150-inch (~381 cm) image when positioned just 12 inches (~30 cm) away from a wall or screen. Additional features include integrated 8.2.2 channel speakers with Dolby Atmos support and connectivity through Wi-Fi 7.

    The initial version of the Leica MPi was introduced by Michael Suguitan as an open-source initiative in May 2023. Since then, there have been several important enhancements to the project. The core concept stays unchanged: the Leica M2 is paired with a Raspberry Pi and a camera sensor that works together to turn the classic 1957 rangefinder camera into a modern digital device.

    Improved Sensor Features

    In the latest iteration, the previous 12 MP Sony IMX477 sensor in a 1/2.3 inch format is substituted with a larger Arducam OwlSight sensor, boasting 64 MP in a 1/1.32 inch size. This upgraded sensor provides a magnification factor of 3.7, transforming the Laowa 9 mm f/5.6 lens into a lens that behaves like a 33 mm on a full-frame camera, while a 90 mm lens becomes equivalent to a 333 mm telephoto lens. Additionally, the new sensor allows for taking vibrant color photos during daytime, a feature that was hindered in the earlier model because there was no infrared filter, leading to color distortions.

    New Features and Design

    Changes also include support for flash and a built-in battery charged via USB-C. As illustrated in the video below, the digital module adds noticeable thickness to the middle section of the Leica M2, which restricts the viewfinder usage to the right eye only.     Mini Series Update

    Moreover, there are whispers about a new Mini series drone being developed by DJI. To give some background, the Mini 4 Pro has been around for over two years now, and the more affordable Mini 4K was released just this past spring. Due to this timeline, Jasper Ellens thinks that we won’t see a fifth-generation model just yet.

    Instead, he expects the DJI Mini 5 to make its first appearance next summer, which starts on June 21, 2025. Nonetheless, both Ellens and OsitaLV seem to have received the same picture of a Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro prototype. From the single image that’s been shared, it looks like DJI has added two new front-facing obstacle sensing sensors, placed between the cameras on the Mini 4 Pro (currently priced at $999.99 on Amazon).

    Sensor and Motor Enhancements

    Reports indicate that these could be LiDAR sensors, possibly similar to those already used in the Air 3S by DJI. Furthermore, Ellens believes that the Mini 5 series will come equipped with ventilated motors that are more powerful compared to those in the Mini 4 Pro. Allegedly, DJI has achieved these improvements while keeping the weight under the official limit of 249 g.

Although we might have to wait around 9 months for the Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro, insider @billbil_kun has uncovered new information about another drone that could be available as soon as next month.

    Details on the New Drone

    In particular, @billbil_kun suggests that they have learned about the DJI Flip, a drone that has been mentioned in several leaks recently. To put it simply, the Flip is expected to come with a much bigger battery compared to the Mini 4 Pro, all while being smaller in size. Additionally, the Flip has a folding design, similar to the latest HoverAir X1 series drones.

    Pricing and Release Information

    As per @billbil_kun, DJI plans to sell the Flip for €439 (~$361) in Europe. If you want the RC 2 remote controller, the price jumps by €200 to €639 (~$526). There’s also a Fly More package available that is estimated to cost €779 (~$641), which includes extra accessories and the same controller. It appears that DJI aims to launch the Flip in Europe and North America on January 14, 2025. There’s a chance that DJI will reveal the drone before this date at CES 2025 in Las Vegas as well.

    Usually, when leaks come out early like this, it hints that the product is still some time away from its official reveal. But Ellens’ new information offers a different perspective. As illustrated in the image below, the leaker has discovered Amazon Mexico mentioning the Flip in a listing for the existing Mini 3 drone.

    The Flip is reportedly around 300 x 300 x 80 mm in size, which we think pertains to the drone’s dimensions when it’s unfolded. If this is true, the Flip would be positioned between the Mini 4 Pro and the Neo, which are sized at 298 x 373 x 101 mm and 130 × 157 × 48.5 mm, respectively. In addition, the Flip is expected to weigh 249 g, even though it supposedly comes with an 18% bigger battery compared to the Mini 4 Pro.

    Pricing and Availability

    It seems that DJI plans to sell the Flip separately, not just bundled in a Fly More Combo package. Regardless, the mention of it possibly including an RC 2 remote controller indicates that the Flip’s Fly More Combo could likely cost over $1,000, similar to what we see with the Mini 4 Pro.
