The DJI Flip is a new drone that many people are excited about, coming from the well-known Chinese brand. After some promo pictures and specifications were revealed earlier, more leaks have now come out, sharing details about its features, specs, and importantly, pricing and when it will be officially announced. According to the famous leaker @JasperEllens on X/Twitter, a retailer in Croatia has put the drone up for sale in three different bundles, with prices of €449 (~$460), €659 (~$676), and €809 (~$830).

    Compact Design

Weighing less than 300 grams (about 249g when using the standard battery and microSD), the DJI Flip is designed to be portable while still offering advanced capabilities. Its foldable structure makes it very compact, measuring just 136×62×165mm when folded and expanding to 233×280×79mm in use. This light weight makes the Flip a great choice for travelers, appealing to both novice and expert users alike.

    Impressive Performance

The Flip runs on a 3110mAh battery, allowing for up to 31 minutes of flying at steady speeds or 28 minutes while hovering. It’s said to manage tough conditions, with wind resistance up to 10.7m/s and a horizontal speed of 12m/s in Normal and Sport modes, reaching as fast as 16m/s with good tailwinds. The drone also comes with a 3-axis mechanical gimbal for stabilization and an advanced sensor setup, featuring front-facing 3D ToF sensors.

If the leaks are correct, this drone will include a built-in 48MP camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor, as mentioned in earlier leaks. With a 24mm lens (f/1.7 aperture), 4K video recording at 60fps, and special vertical shooting modes made for social media, the Flip seems to connect professional and hobbyist drone users. DJI Mini 5 and Neo 2 Drone Rumors Spark Excitement

On the whole, drone leakers like Igor Bogdanov, OsitaLV, and Jasper Ellens are focused on the DJI Flip, which is widely expected to be the company’s next consumer drone. Nevertheless, Ellens has also shared some other hints regarding two additional DJI drones that are on the horizon.

    Upcoming Models

To provide some context, there are circulating rumors about DJI getting ready to launch the Mavic 4 and Mavic 4 Pro very soon. Furthermore, just under a month ago, Ellens and OsitaLV were the first to mention the Mini 5 series. According to OsitaLV, unnamed sources have indicated that the Mini 5 drones are expected to arrive ‘late 2025’, likely after the Mavic 4 series is released.

    Changes in the Lineup

Additionally, Ellens has noted that DJI plans to replace the Neo (currently priced at $238 on Amazon) this year, even though this particular drone was only released in September. Interestingly, the same leaker also states that their contacts have informed them that both the Neo 2 and Mini 5 are set for a ‘simultaneous’ launch. Therefore, we can anticipate more leaks about the Neo 2 and Mini 5 appearing sometime this summer.

  • DJI Flip Promo Images and Specs Leaked Ahead of Release

The upcoming compact drone from DJI seems to be nearing its launch. While the company hasn’t made any official announcements, several leakers have shared promotional images ahead of the eagerly awaited drone.

    Key Features of the Flip

As earlier speculated, DJI is set to kick off this year with the Flip, which @Quadro_News claims will feature a 48 MP camera with a 1/1.3-inch optical format, an 82.1° field of view, and a 4x digital zoom. Additionally, this camera is expected to support 4K video recording along with DNG and RAW photo formats.

  • DJI Mini 5 Rumors: LiDAR and Motor Upgrades for 249g Drone

DJI Mini 5 Rumors: LiDAR and Motor Upgrades for 249g Drone

According to some latest news, the DJI Flip might be getting ready for its launch soon. However, it seems like the Flip is just one of the many drones DJI is working on. For example, there are hints that the Mavic 4 and Mavic 4 Pro could be coming out in the next few months as well.

    Mini Series Update

Moreover, there are whispers about a new Mini series drone being developed by DJI. To give some background, the Mini 4 Pro has been around for over two years now, and the more affordable Mini 4K was released just this past spring. Due to this timeline, Jasper Ellens thinks that we won’t see a fifth-generation model just yet.

Instead, he expects the DJI Mini 5 to make its first appearance next summer, which starts on June 21, 2025. Nonetheless, both Ellens and OsitaLV seem to have received the same picture of a Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro prototype. From the single image that’s been shared, it looks like DJI has added two new front-facing obstacle sensing sensors, placed between the cameras on the Mini 4 Pro (currently priced at $999.99 on Amazon).

    Sensor and Motor Enhancements

Reports indicate that these could be LiDAR sensors, possibly similar to those already used in the Air 3S by DJI. Furthermore, Ellens believes that the Mini 5 series will come equipped with ventilated motors that are more powerful compared to those in the Mini 4 Pro. Allegedly, DJI has achieved these improvements while keeping the weight under the official limit of 249 g.

  • DJI Flip Drone Launch Pricing and Features Revealed by Leaker

DJI Flip Drone Launch Pricing and Features Revealed by Leaker

Earlier today, we discussed the possibility of DJI introducing the Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro as a successor to the Mini 4 Pro, which came out more than two years ago (currently priced at $999.99 on Amazon). Although we might have to wait around 9 months for the Mini 5 or Mini 5 Pro, insider @billbil_kun has uncovered new information about another drone that could be available as soon as next month.

    Details on the New Drone

In particular, @billbil_kun suggests that they have learned about the DJI Flip, a drone that has been mentioned in several leaks recently. To put it simply, the Flip is expected to come with a much bigger battery compared to the Mini 4 Pro, all while being smaller in size. Additionally, the Flip has a folding design, similar to the latest HoverAir X1 series drones.

    Pricing and Release Information

As per @billbil_kun, DJI plans to sell the Flip for €439 (~$361) in Europe. If you want the RC 2 remote controller, the price jumps by €200 to €639 (~$526). There’s also a Fly More package available that is estimated to cost €779 (~$641), which includes extra accessories and the same controller. It appears that DJI aims to launch the Flip in Europe and North America on January 14, 2025. There’s a chance that DJI will reveal the drone before this date at CES 2025 in Las Vegas as well.

    What This Means for Consumers

The arrival of the Flip could provide consumers with new options in the drone market. With its larger battery and portability features, it seems like it could be a popular choice among enthusiasts. As we await more information, it will be interesting to see how DJI positions this new model against its existing lineup.

  • DJI Flip Drone Specs Revealed Early: Unique Foldable Design

DJI Flip Drone Specs Revealed Early: Unique Foldable Design

Jasper Ellens has revealed fresh insights about the DJI Flip, which may turn out to be one of the more unusual drone releases from DJI. To summarize, information regarding this yet-to-be-released drone has been gradually surfacing over the past couple of weeks. This has been partly due to a recent listing by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which came shortly after DJI’s global launch of the Mic Mini, currently priced at $169 on Amazon.

    Early Leaks and Official Timing

Usually, when leaks come out early like this, it hints that the product is still some time away from its official reveal. But Ellens’ new information offers a different perspective. As illustrated in the image below, the leaker has discovered Amazon Mexico mentioning the Flip in a listing for the existing Mini 3 drone.

    Specifications and Features

The Flip is reportedly around 300 x 300 x 80 mm in size, which we think pertains to the drone’s dimensions when it’s unfolded. If this is true, the Flip would be positioned between the Mini 4 Pro and the Neo, which are sized at 298 x 373 x 101 mm and 130 × 157 × 48.5 mm, respectively. In addition, the Flip is expected to weigh 249 g, even though it supposedly comes with an 18% bigger battery compared to the Mini 4 Pro.

    Pricing and Availability

It seems that DJI plans to sell the Flip separately, not just bundled in a Fly More Combo package. Regardless, the mention of it possibly including an RC 2 remote controller indicates that the Flip’s Fly More Combo could likely cost over $1,000, similar to what we see with the Mini 4 Pro. Unfortunately, the timing for DJI’s official announcement of the Flip remains uncertain.

  • DJI Flip: Leaked Images of New Compact Drone Surface

DJI Flip: Leaked Images of New Compact Drone Surface

DJI has been busy this year, launching a variety of gadgets, including multiple drones. Recently, they unveiled the Mic Mini (curr. $169 on Amazon), a smaller option compared to the Mic 2 that was introduced earlier this year. Additionally, there are rumors about other devices in the works, such as a robot vacuum and a new camera gimbal.

    New Drone in the Works

Now, there’s a new compact drone to add to their lineup. Although DJI hasn’t made any official announcements yet, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US has released initial documents that provide information about the DJI Flip. Interestingly, the regulatory agency also included a sketch of the drone, showing various specifications in the process.

    Features and Battery Life

For example, the DJI Flip includes propeller guards, which typically suggest that a drone might have a first-person view (FPV) mode similar to the new DJI Neo. However, Jasper Ellens has mentioned that the Flip has been spotted in public with a regular controller. This leads him to believe that the DJI Flip might not support FPV features. On the other hand, it is expected to have a significantly larger battery than the DJI Neo, which has a capacity of 1,435 mAh (10.5 Wh). In contrast, the FCC has disclosed that the DJI Flip will come equipped with a 3,110 mAh (22.3 Wh) battery. Sadly, other specifics and a release date are still a mystery at this point.
