  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Display Features and Innovations Revealed

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Display Features and Innovations Revealed

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a new Privacy Display that can hide screen content from unwanted viewers.
    2. Users may be able to customize which parts of the screen are concealed, allowing for selective privacy.
    3. The Privacy Display technology uses adjustable viewing angles to darken specific screen areas for onlookers.
    4. The Galaxy S26 Ultra may introduce a new Samsung M14 panel capable of 10-bit color for enhanced color range and gradients.
    5. A 10-bit display can show over 1 billion colors, significantly improving visual quality compared to traditional 8-bit displays.

We’ve been aware for several months that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is about to be released with an intriguing new feature called Privacy Display, which Samsung has started to promote. Early details indicate that users will be able to set the entire screen to either automatically or manually hide content from unwanted viewers.

    Customized Viewing Experience

According to the well-regarded leaker Ice Universe on X, it may also be feasible to shield only certain sections of the screen. For example, this could let pop-up notifications with sensitive data, such as passwords or access codes, be concealed from those around, while keeping the rest of the screen visible. Samsung’s Privacy Display technology utilizes pixels that have adjustable viewing angles, allowing specific areas of the screen to darken for anyone looking at it from an angle.

New Display Features on the Horizon

Moreover, the launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra could introduce another highly anticipated premium display feature in a Samsung device. Ice Universe has expressed strong confidence that the new Samsung M14 panel will be capable of 10-bit color. A 10-bit display can show significantly more colors than an 8-bit display, boosting the color range from 16.7 million to 1.07 billion. This allows for much smoother color gradients; however, some 8-bit displays utilize Frame Rate Control (FRC) to enhance their color performance compared to non-FRC displays.

  • Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Privacy Display Tech Leaked Details

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Privacy Display Tech Leaked Details

    Key Takeaways

    1. Samsung is introducing a new feature called Privacy Display in the Galaxy S26 Ultra to limit screen visibility from side angles.
    2. The Privacy Display technology obscures certain areas of the screen for viewers not directly in front, enhancing privacy for sensitive information.
    3. This feature uses advanced display technology that directs light towards specific angles, unlike traditional screens with 180-degree visibility.
    4. The Privacy Display is a hardware-level solution, distinguishing it from third-party privacy filters typically used on phones.
    5. Potential drawbacks include variations in brightness and color, which Samsung will need to address for optimal performance.

The launch of the Galaxy S26 series is fast approaching, and as we get closer to the next Unpacked event, Samsung is beginning to hint at a new display feature expected in the S26 Ultra. Although it hasn’t been officially shown yet, well-known leaker Ice Universe has already given us a sneak peek at what this feature could do.

    Privacy Display Feature

The key feature being highlighted is named Privacy Display. As the name suggests, it aims to restrict the viewing angle of the screen to deter prying eyes. The leaker recently demonstrated that this feature can provide partial privacy, hiding pop-ups with sensitive information from anyone not directly in front of the screen.

    How It Works

In another post, Ice Universe explained how the Privacy Display on the Galaxy S26 Ultra functions. He noted that Samsung is utilizing advanced display technology that can obscure certain screen areas or even the whole display from side views. This approach is similar to those found in enterprise privacy screens and ATMs.

By directing light towards a specific angle, the display ensures that only viewers directly in front can see the content. Those looking from the sides won’t be able to perceive the light beam, thus they can’t see anything on that section of the screen. In contrast, traditional screens, like the one on the S25 Ultra (256GB curr. $1,045 on Amazon), distribute light evenly, providing about 180-degree visibility, which allows anyone from the sides to see the display without any problems.

    Hardware vs Software

According to Ice Universe, this is not merely a software gimmick. While it resembles third-party privacy filters for phones, it stands apart as a hardware-level solution. Though it sounds quite impressive, using directional light in displays can lead to some drawbacks, such as variations in brightness and color. It will be interesting to observe how Samsung addresses these challenges.

Xiaomi has just shared more key specifications of the Redmi Turbo 5, following the earlier reveal of the Turbo 5 Max. The company had previously announced that this budget-friendly device will run on the Dimensity 8500 chipset, which was introduced along with the 9500s.

    Performance Insights

Although this SoC appears impressive theoretically, recent benchmark results indicate that it may not deliver a significant boost in performance. Nonetheless, Xiaomi asserts that it can provide a 25% enhancement in GPU capabilities.

    Features and Display

Additionally, the Dimensity 8500, now referred to as the 8500-Ultra, comes with LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The “3D” VC cooling system is claimed to help the SoC achieve its “full performance potential.” Xiaomi also confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch display with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. This matches the maximum brightness of the Turbo 5 Max, ensuring a pleasant viewing experience even in bright light situations.

  • Samsung Reveals Exciting Galaxy S26 Ultra Feature Before Launch

Samsung Reveals Exciting Galaxy S26 Ultra Feature Before Launch

    Key Takeaways

    1. Samsung has introduced a new Privacy Display feature for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, enhancing screen privacy.
    2. The feature narrows viewing angles, making the screen appear black to anyone looking from the side.
    3. It can automatically activate when typing sensitive information and can be customized for specific apps or notifications.
    4. Practical scenarios for the Privacy Display include using it in crowded places like elevators and public transport.
    5. The development of the Privacy Display took Samsung five years to complete.

A leak from early January already showed how the privacy display on the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is supposed to function. Now, Samsung has formally revealed this new feature through a press release. While the Galaxy S26 Ultra isn’t explicitly named, multiple leaks strongly indicate which smartphone will introduce this innovative capability.

    Features of the Privacy Display

On initial inspection, the feature seems similar to a privacy film, like those available for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (starting at $1,049 on Amazon). When the privacy display is activated, the screen’s viewing angles become very narrow, making it so that anyone peeking from the side only sees a black screen. The key benefit of this built-in solution is its ability to be tailored based on the content being displayed.

    Customization Options

For instance, it can automatically turn on the privacy display when sensitive information, like passwords, is typed in, and then turn it off to allow wider viewing angles of the OLED screens. Samsung also lets users temporarily and automatically activate the privacy display while using certain applications or when receiving notifications.

    Practical Usage Scenarios

Samsung illustrates three specific scenarios where the privacy display proves beneficial: unlocking the device in a busy elevator, reading a private message on public transport, and entering a password on the subway. The company states that the creation of the privacy display took a total of five years.

    Design Features

Samsung maintains a display that has relatively slim bezels and a flat frame, featuring a unique protrusion on the right side referred to as Key Island. It will also come equipped with a 50MP main camera that has a 1/1.56-inch sensor, which is an improvement over the 1/1.96-inch sensor found in the Galaxy A36. Reports indicate that Samsung will include an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro camera in the A37. • Apple iPhone to Block Location Tracking with Apple Modem Only

Apple iPhone to Block Location Tracking with Apple Modem Only

    Key Takeaways

    1. The iOS 26.3 update allows data transfer between iPhones and Android smartphones.
    2. Users can now forward notifications to non-Apple smartwatches.
    3. A new privacy feature, “Limit Precise Location,” reduces location tracking by network operators.
    4. Users must manually enable the “Limit Precise Location” feature in settings after updating.
    5. This feature is only available with specific network providers and certain Apple devices.

The Apple iPhone is gearing up for an update to iOS 26.3, which is set to roll out within the next few hours. This update brings a host of exciting new features. For instance, users will now be able to transfer data between an iPhone and an Android smartphone. Additionally, there’s finally the capability to forward notifications to smartwatches that are not made by Apple. A support document from Apple has also unveiled a privacy-focused feature that users may find beneficial.

    Privacy-Focused Features

This new feature, dubbed “Limit Precise Location” by Apple, aims to stop network operators from using cell towers and signal strength to track the exact location of an iPhone. Apple states that iPhones with this feature turned on will send less information to cell towers. As a result, network operators won’t be able to pinpoint the precise location anymore; they will only have access to the general area where the user is situated. Importantly, Apple assures that this feature does not affect signal strength or the accuracy of location data in navigation apps, as these applications rely on GPS instead of cell towers for accurate tracking.

    Limitations of the Feature

That said, there are a few limitations to keep in mind. First, users must manually turn on this feature after they install iOS 26.3 by going to Settings –> Cellular –> Data Options. Secondly, “Limit Precise Location” is only available with specific network providers; in the US, it’s offered exclusively by Boost Mobile. In the UK, this feature is limited to EE and BT users. Lastly, only devices equipped with an Apple C1 or C1X modem can support this feature, which includes the iPhone 16e, iPhone Air, and the iPad Pro that comes with the Apple M5 chip.
