  • Crimson Desert PS5 Patch Boosts Performance with FSR Upscaling

Crimson Desert PS5 Patch Boosts Performance with FSR Upscaling

    Key Takeaway

    1. The 1.01.00 update introduced a fixed 4K toggle in performance mode, improving visuals on PS5.
    2. FSR upscaling contributed significantly to sharper images, pleasing many players despite some frame rate compromises.
    3. The update also reduced load times and addressed critical bugs, enhancing overall game stability and performance.
    4. While players appreciate the visual improvements, some express concerns about potential frame rate drops to around 40fps with 4K enabled.

Improved Visuals on PS5 After Last Update

After the release of Crimson Desert, many console players, specifically those on PS5, had issues with blurry visuals. The performance mode, which was meant to give higher frames, ended up delivering subpar graphics. But fans started noticing a shift after the recent patch, which made things look better.

    Patch 1.01.00 Details

In the new update, Pearl Abyss added a very useful fix. They included a toggle to force 4K resolution in performance mode, which helps games look sharper on even basic TVs and monitors. The big boost probably comes from the use of FSR upscaling, which many Reddit users are praising. This gives players the chance to enjoy a more detailed vision of the game without sacrificing too much on frame rate.

    Player Reactions & Community Feedback

Gamers on Reddit are talking about the update’s impact, with some calling it “incredible.” Users like 68WhiskeyAR mentioned they are “blown away how smooth and consistent” the gameplay now feels after just one update. Many who value more fluid action feel the visuals are now much sharper, making gameplay more enjoyable.

    Some Drawbacks Still Persist

Not every player is entirely happy about the changes. Although performance mode on PS5 looks better with 4K enabled, there are some downsides. Frame rates tend to dip to around 40fps when reaching that resolution, which is similar to the balanced setting. Still, despite these issues, most gamers are quite satisfied with the improved visuals and stability from the update.

Other Fixes & Game Performance Enhancements

The patch isn’t just for visuals — it also brought a lot of other improvements. There are shorter load times across different platforms, making the game more enjoyable. Developers managed to fix critical bugs, like the map crash problem that was causing trouble on PlayStation consoles. Overall, the game’s momentum has grown, especially on PC where peak Steam players have increased significantly.

    Game State & Future Prospects

Before its launch, it was suspected that Pearl Abyss might have kept some Crimson Desert footage under wraps. The game, initially, didn’t seem fully ready, which was a concern. But now, even without certain features like PSSR upscaling on the PS5 Pro, the standard version has improved visuals that come closer to what was expected. Fans are hopeful for further updates and refinements.

  • Fortnite Victory Cups Increase Ranked Entry and Offer Big Cash Prizes

Fortnite Victory Cups Increase Ranked Entry and Offer Big Cash Prizes

    Key Takeaway

    1. The Victory Cups have a structured progression with increasing ranked requirements for solos, culminating at Unreal rank, while Reload Duos requires both players to be at least Elite from the start.
    2. Both formats feature a two-round setup, with Round 1 focusing on point accumulation for qualification, and Round 2 solely based on Victory Royales.
    3. Prize money is awarded per Victory Royale in the final round, with Solo players earning $100 per win and teams in Reload Duos earning $200 per win.
    4. The competition structure includes regional qualification thresholds, with specific match and time limits for each round.
    5. Final Round 2 scoring emphasizes Victories without placement points, highlighting the importance of securing Victory Royales.

Epic’s New Rules for Fortnite Victory Cups

Epic has rolled out the official rules for the upcoming Fortnite Victory Cups in Chapter 7 Season 2, which lays out the season’s structure that will progressively raise the required ranked levels for solo players. However, Reload Duos maintains a consistent high standard throughout, which is pretty interesting. The rules info is now shown in Fortnite’s news feed under the Competitive section, sharing details about Solo and Reload Duos Victory Cups, though the actual dates and times are only available within the game, not in the general rules document. This setup kinda makes it easy for players to stay updated and plan their participation around the in-game schedule, which is more accurate and timely.

Specifics for Solo and Reload Duos Play

In the solo category, Epic specifies that the initial event requires players to reach at least Platinum in Battle Royale Ranked Mode. Then, the second event moves that goal higher, requiring an Elite rank. For the final event, only players reaching Unreal can participate.

Reload Duos, on the other hand, is a tad tougher at the start, demanding both players in a duo to be at least Elite in Reload Ranked Mode to join. This pledge to a stricter minimum might motivate some players to improve their ranks early, but might turn away those still climbing up the ranks. The match progressions are set and standardized for both formats, making the competition fare equal in a way that keeps it fair and challenging.

    Format and Progression Details

Both formats use a two-round layout, which keeps things straightforward and competitive. In Solo Victory Cup Round 1, matches last roughly two hours, with players permitted to participate in up to eight games. Positioning in this round is primarily based on accumulated points which are calculated from placements and eliminations. For example, the best players in Europe, North America Central, and OCE, Asia, Middle East, Brazil, and NA West with the most points move forward to the second round.

Reload Duos replicates a similar structure, with an 8-match cap in Round 1, lasting similar hours, and only the top teams advancing based on points. The second round is shorter, about an hour, and allows only three matches which heighten the stakes. It’s interesting how both formats keep the initial stages accessible but intensify the competition as they progress.

What Matters in the Final Round?

The final round is made easy for players to understand: in Solo Round 2, only the Victory Royales matter for the leaderboard. No extra points for placements, purely your wins count. The same rule applies for Reload Duos, where the focus is solely on first-place finishes. This structure emphasizes aggressive gameplay and rewards pure wins, which can excite players who prefer to go all out.

During Round 1, scoring was wider, with players able to rack up to 60 points for wins and extra points for eliminations. Reload Duos tend to focus more on victory dominance, awarding the winner 60 points plus two points per elimination. This scoring setup keeps the matches dynamic, always pushing players to play aggressively for top spots.

    Prize Money and Availability

Epic states that solo victors in Round 2 will get $100 per Victory Royale. For Reload Duos, each team that wins in Round 2 earns $200, which means if a team wins three games, it earns $600 total, divided equally among teammates, that’s $300 each. And there’s good news for Android users because Fortnite is again available on Google Play, with Epic officially confirming the Android comeback scheduled for March 19, 2026. That’s a big step for Android fans who want to join the Fortnite fun and earn their share of those cash prizes.

  • Saints Row Prequel Fails as Publisher Dismisses 1970s Revival Idea

Saints Row Prequel Fails as Publisher Dismisses 1970s Revival Idea

    Key Takeaways

    1. The planned “back-to-basics” prequel for Saints Row has stalled, with no current progress reported.
    2. The project aimed to explore the origins of the Third Street Saints in the 1970s, focusing on characters Julius Little and Benjamin King.
    3. Chris Stockman, the original design director, has experienced a lack of communication from the Embracer Group regarding the project.
    4. Stockman expressed concerns that Embracer seems unable to move forward with the franchise.
    5. The future of the Saints Row series appears bleak, especially following the closure of original developer Volition in 2023.

The idea of a “back-to-basics” prequel for Saints Row, which came up in late 2025, seems to have hit a dead end. Chris Stockman, the design director from the original 2006 game, earlier mentioned that he was contacted by PLAION, a part of the Embracer Group, to create a formal proposal for a new installment.

    Focus on the Origins

This new project aimed to delve into the early days of the Third Street Saints set in the 1970s Stilwater, particularly the beginnings of characters Julius Little and Benjamin King. Fans were hopeful that this could be a way to fix the issues seen in the 2022 Saints Row reboot, which had a hard time keeping a steady tone and connecting with its main audience.

    Lack of Progress

Unfortunately, recent updates from Stockman on Discord (shared by @papaRPG on X) indicate that any progress within Embracer has pretty much vanished. He also mentioned that, despite trying to create a clear direction for the franchise, the parent company has stopped all communication about the project. Stockman expressed his feelings by saying:

“I get the sense that Embracer has zero ability to do anything with it.”

    The Future Looks Dim

This candid statement suggests that the Saints Row series is likely “dead” for quite a while. This news follows a time of restructuring and studio shutdowns at Embracer Group, which included the closure of the original developer Volition in 2023.

  • Super Mario Galaxy Movie Cast Leak: New Villain Joins Bowser Jr.

Super Mario Galaxy Movie Cast Leak: New Villain Joins Bowser Jr.

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will feature a new villain, Wario, who may team up with Bowser Jr.
    2. An updated plot summary reveals Mario must stop Wario and Bowser Jr.’s plans for world domination after saving Brooklyn.
    3. The credibility of the leaked information is supported by Everyman Cinema’s reputation for reliability and hints from Chris Pratt.
    4. Wario has a history in Nintendo games, first appearing in 1992, but details of his role in the film are still unclear.
    5. The movie is set to be released on April 1st, 2026, with more information expected from Nintendo before the premiere.

Even with the cast of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie expanding with each new preview, there seems to be at least one more villainous addition. According to Nintendo Wire, Everyman Cinema has leaked info about another character featured in the film. This new antagonist, who may team up with Bowser Jr., is a character fans might recognize from previous games (spoilers ahead).

    Plot Summary Update

Everyman Cinema has provided an alternate description of the Illumination Entertainment project on its site. The summary states:

After defeating Bowser and saving Brooklyn, Mario encounters Wario and Bowser Jr.’s wicked alliance. Now, with his friends and Yoshi at his side, he must thwart their ambitions for world domination.

While this summary differs from most others, it’s not the first time Wario has been mentioned. Back in September 2025, Cinepolis El Salvador shared a similar message on their Instagram.

    Credibility of the Leak

There’s some debate about whether the cinemas accidentally leaked information about the Super Mario Galaxy Movie cast. Nevertheless, Everyman is a business known for reliability. It’s possible both sources drew from information Nintendo intends to unveil in a future promotional trailer.

In a possible hint, Chris Pratt, who will reprise his role as Mario, suggested the presence of the hefty villain. Just before Nintendo confirmed Yoshi’s appearance, he teased more surprises to come. In a GamesRadar interview from January, he mentioned that fans could expect multiple thrilling additions.

    Wario’s Role in the Film

In the movie, Bowser Jr. is determined to rescue his imprisoned, shrunken father. The specifics of how Wario fits into this storyline remain vague. Wario first appeared in the 1992 game Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins for the Game Boy. Since then, Wario and the Koopa Troopa prince have been seen together in various Nintendo games, primarily in sports and party formats.

If the recent leak about the Super Mario Galaxy Movie is true, the next big question is who will voice Wario. In 2023, Kevin Afghani replaced Charles Martinet, voicing Wario in WarioWare: Move It!. Still, Danny DeVito would likely be a popular pick, having shown interest in voicing the character in the past.

    Release Information

The release date for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is set for April 1st, 2026. Nintendo is likely to clarify more of these lingering questions before the film hits theaters.

  • Pokémon Gen 10 Game to Launch at Pokémon Presents Showcase

Pokémon Gen 10 Game to Launch at Pokémon Presents Showcase

    Key Takeaways

    1. Fans are excited about potential announcements for Pokémon games during the Pokémon Presents event on February 27th, including the rumored Pokémon Wind and Waves.
    2. A data breach at Game Freak has led to leaks about Pokémon Gen 10, which will be set on procedurally generated islands inspired by Southeast Asia.
    3. Wind and Waves is expected to have improved visuals and new gameplay features, including weather effects influencing battles, while maintaining a turn-based system.
    4. The announcement period for Gen 10 is anticipated to be late February 2026, coinciding with potential plans for a Switch 2 release.
    5. The event may also showcase other titles like Sleep, Unite, Champions, and Pokopia, but time constraints may limit detailed coverage of all projects.

As the Pokémon Presents event on February 27th nears, fans are buzzing with guesses about which games for the Switch and Switch 2 might be announced. Pory_Leeks has released a list of expected games, including the highly talked about Pokémon Wind and Waves. While this prediction seems logical, Nintendo has yet to make any official announcement regarding the release of Gen 10.

    Details from Teraleak

The well-known Teraleak has already spilled a wealth of information concerning the upcoming mainline Pokémon game. Images and documents related to this project have emerged due to a significant data breach at Game Freak.

Pokémon Gen 10 is set to unfold on a series of procedurally generated islands inspired by Southeast Asia. This large-scale open-world design suggests that trainers will be able to explore and travel across these diverse locations.

    Visual Improvements and Gameplay Changes

Screenshots indicate that Wind and Waves will feature visuals that are notably superior to those of Scarlet and Violet. Moreover, new gameplay mechanics could enhance the classic catch-train-fight formula. Weather conditions might play a role in battles, allowing trainers to utilize the forces of nature. Although the battles will still be turn-based, they are expected to be more dynamic than the gameplay seen in Arceus.

Since the Teraleak came to light, players have been eyeing late February 2026 as the potential announcement period. A Pokémon Presents event could pave the way for Nintendo to release the Switch 2 game by the holiday season. Without a new 3D Mario or Zelda title, Gen 10 could be vital in boosting console sales.

What to Expect on February 27th

The list from pory_Leeks also predicts that titles like Sleep, Unite, Champions, and Pokopia will make an appearance during the event on February 27th. Nonetheless, with the presentation running for only about 25 minutes, it may be tough to cover all these projects thoroughly.

It’s possible that Nintendo chose to reveal Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen just ahead of Pokémon Day. These digital-only Switch games allow players to revisit the era of the Game Boy Advance. Such a move could provide a little extra time for debuting the first Wind and Waves trailer.

  • RTX 5090 Ti: Minor Specs Update, Major Power Consumption Rise

RTX 5090 Ti: Minor Specs Update, Major Power Consumption Rise

    Key Takeaways

    1. The Nvidia Blackwell Titan, a potential RTX 5090 Ti, is set to launch in late 2026 and has been tested since mid-2025.
    2. It features 22,848 CUDA cores, which is 5% more than the RTX 5090, but does not use the full AD202 die.
    3. The GPU has high power consumption, operating normally between 700-750 Watts, with some prototypes exceeding 1,000 Watts.
    4. Performance improvements over the RTX 5090 are expected to be modest, around 10-20%, targeting hardcore enthusiasts.
    5. The VRAM amount is unconfirmed, but pricing may exceed $2,500-3,000, with the potential for a hybrid gaming and AI focus.

Murmurs about a high-end Nvidia GPU launching in late 2026 started emerging a few weeks ago, shortly after another report stated the exact opposite. It is said to be a more powerful version of the RTX 5090—an RTX 5090 Ti, even. Moore’s Law is Dead has now learned new information about the mystery new GPU. The graphics card has been in testing since mid-2025.

    Details on the Blackwell Titan

Tom’s source indicates that the Blackwell Titan comes with 5% more CUDA cores than the RTX 5090. This would mean it has 22,848 CUDA cores, suggesting that the graphics card does not utilize a full AD202 die with 24,064 cores. It is known to consume a lot of power, with some unlocked prototypes using over 1,000 Watts. However, under normal conditions, it operates in the 700-750 Watts range. This significant power requirement means it needs ample cooling and should be held with both hands.

    Performance Expectations

The substantial increase in power usage, sadly, results in only a modest performance gain. The RTX 5090 Ti/Blackwell Titan is expected to offer just a 10% improvement over the RTX 5090, according to Tom’s source. In ideal conditions, this figure might even reach 20%. Regardless, this GPU is likely targeted at hardcore enthusiasts looking to stay on the cutting edge, rather than the typical gamer.

    VRAM and Pricing Speculations

Currently, there is no confirmation regarding the amount of VRAM that the RTX 5090 Ti/Blackwell Titan will feature. Anything above 32 GB is excessive for gaming, but various AI tasks could take advantage of 48 GB. Nvidia might position it as a hybrid offering for gaming and AI enthusiasts. As for the pricing, anything under $2,500-3,000 seems very unlikely considering the current market conditions.

However, just because a prototype exists doesn’t mean it will be released, as the previous Titan Ada prototype never made it to market. Tom believes that the RTX 5090 Ti/Blackwell Titan could serve as Nvidia’s temporary solution, dominating benchmark charts until the RTX 60 series arrives in 2028.

  • DLSS 4.5 Outperforms AMD FSR in Test with 6,700 Gamers

DLSS 4.5 Outperforms AMD FSR in Test with 6,700 Gamers

    Key Takeaways

    1. Test Overview: A blind test by ComputerBase compared DLSS 4.5, AMD’s FSR 4, and native rendering with over 6,500 gamers participating.

    2. Results: DLSS 4.5 was the most preferred option, chosen by 48.2% of participants, while 24% chose native quality and 15% preferred FSR 4.

    3. Game Variety: The evaluation included popular titles like Anno 117, ARC Raider, Cyberpunk 2077, and Last of Us Part II, conducted at 4K resolution using the “Quality” preset.

    4. Improvements in DLSS 4.5: Although DLSS 4.5 shows noticeable improvements, it does not represent a drastic change from DLSS 4.0.

    5. Conclusion on FSR: The results do not definitively prove FSR is inferior to native rendering, but DLSS 4.5 is favored among gamers.

In a recent blind test organized by the notable German magazine ComputerBase, DLSS 4.5 was compared to AMD’s FSR 4 and native rendering. This test saw participation from over 6,500 gamers, and the outcome was quite definitive – DLSS 4.5 triumphed in the upscaling preferences by a significant margin.

    Test Details and Preferences

The evaluation included a variety of games, such as Anno 117, ARC Raider, Cyberpunk 2077, and Last of Us Part II. In the end, out of all participants, 1,619 (which is 24%) chose native quality, about 1,013 (around 15%) favored AMD’s FSR 4, while a substantial majority, approximately 3,249 (48.2%), opted for Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5.

Additionally, about 866 (12.8%) of the gamers felt that the three options were almost on par. The test was performed using the “Quality” preset and at a resolution of 4K.

    Improvements in DLSS 4.5

While DLSS 4.5 may not represent as significant a leap from DLSS 4.0 as DLSS 4.0 did from DLSS 3.0, the enhancements are as apparent as a bright sunny day. Nvidia’s second-gen transformer model demonstrates its effectiveness in practical tests, including the thorough one we conducted.

It’s important to note that ComputerBase’s findings don’t necessarily undermine AMD’s FSR; they simply reflect the gamers’ first choice, not the subsequent preferences.

    Conclusion on FSR and DLSS

As stated by ComputerBase, to claim that “FSR is worse than native” based on these survey results would be misleading. Nonetheless, it is clear that DLSS 4.5 seems to have the advantage overall.

If you’re looking to buy a graphics card, the Gigabyte RTX 5070 Windforce is currently priced at $650 on Amazon.
