  • MediaTek Helio G100 SoC Launches: 200MP Camera & Elevator Mode

MediaTek Helio G100 SoC Launches: 200MP Camera & Elevator Mode

MediaTek has introduced its latest Helio G100 chipset, following the release of the Tecno Camon 30S Pro, the first smartphone to incorporate this platform. The new chipset builds upon the Helio G99, featuring several enhancements aimed at boosting camera performance and connectivity.

    Specifications and Features

The Helio G100 comes with an octa-core CPU, which includes two 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. It supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, both of which remain popular choices for budget devices. The maximum supported display resolution stays at 2,520 x 1,080 pixels, similar to the Helio G99.

A significant upgrade in the Helio G100 is its support for 200 MP main cameras, a considerable advancement from the Helio G99. This enhancement positions the new chipset as a robust option for devices emphasizing high-resolution photography. It can also manage 16 + 16 MP dual camera setups and 32 MP video capture at 30 frames per second.

    Improved Connectivity: The “Elevator Mode”

The Helio G100 introduces the “Elevator Mode,” designed to quickly re-establish cellular connection after exiting areas with no coverage, such as tunnels or elevators. This feature benefits users who frequently move through regions with sporadic connectivity, ensuring faster network reconnection.

The chipset supports dual 4G SIM cards with both VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and ViLTE (Video over LTE) capabilities, addressing the growing demand for improved voice and video calling quality over LTE networks.

    Market Position and Availability

The Helio G99 was favored in mid-range smartphones within LTE markets due to its cost-efficiency compared to Dimensity chipsets. The Helio G100 retains this competitive pricing while offering enhanced features, making it an appealing option for both manufacturers and consumers.

MediaTek has commenced supplying the Helio G100 to its customers, and we can anticipate seeing new smartphones equipped with this chipset in the upcoming weeks and months.

  • TCL T9 Pro Dual-System Fridge: Zero Odor, Energy Efficient & More

TCL T9 Pro Dual-System Fridge: Zero Odor, Energy Efficient & More

TCL has recently introduced the T9 Pro dual-system ultra-thin built-in refrigerator during a launch event in China. This refrigerator comes in two sizes: 451 liters and 523 liters, priced at 3,999 Yuan ($556) and 4,399 Yuan ($612) respectively. Pre-sales for the T9 Pro began today at 2:30 PM (CST).

    TCL T9 Pro Refrigerator Features

The TCL T9 Pro boasts “dual-system zero odor mixing” technology, ensuring that odors do not transfer between compartments. Its “58cm true built-in” design allows it to fit snugly into standard kitchen cabinets without sticking out.

Additionally, it offers a 26-level wide temperature adjustable compartment, adjustable from -20°C to 5°C, providing flexibility to switch between refrigeration and freezing as per the user’s needs.

Designed to keep food fresh for longer, the refrigerator employs independent dual cooling systems for both the refrigeration and freezing areas. This prevents odor mixing and retains moisture effectively.

    Advanced Sterilization and Efficiency

Inside the refrigerator compartment, multi-point ion sterilization and deodorization are featured, while the freezer utilizes T-fresh cold sterilization.

These technologies deliver a high sterilization rate of 99.99%, a deodorization rate of 99.8%, and a virus elimination rate of 99.9%. The -40°C crystal membrane technology quickly freezes food, maintaining its nutritional value and flavor better than conventional freezing methods.

The TCL T9 Pro is also energy-efficient, with a Level 1 energy rating, consuming only 0.78 kWh per day. This translates to an estimated daily electricity cost of about 0.39 Yuan. The refrigerator operates quietly at 35dB, making it ideal for homes where low noise levels are important.

    Design and Convenience

The refrigerator features a stable embedded hinge that allows the door to open at a 90° right angle, even when placed against a wall, for easy access. Its pure white finish is anti-fingerprint, stain-resistant, and scratch-resistant, enhancing both its durability and aesthetic appeal, making it a good match for various home decor styles.

  • Huawei’s Tri-Folding Phone Supports PC-Level Apps, Minimal Crease

Huawei’s Tri-Folding Phone Supports PC-Level Apps, Minimal Crease

Huawei has been developing a tri-folding device for some time now. The company has filed several patents related to its folding technology. A recent patent reveals a tri-folding phone featuring two hinges and a flexible screen that folds outward.

The latest update indicates that the tri-folding display of the phone has successfully passed the 28μm test. This test assesses the durability and visibility of the crease formed on the screen after multiple folds. The "28μm" (28 micrometers) measurement likely refers to the depth of the crease that appears after numerous folds.

    Durability in Folding Displays

Maintaining the integrity of folding displays over many folds without developing a noticeable crease is indeed a significant challenge. The tri-folding phone is rumored to have the capability to replace tablets and book-style foldable devices.

    Potential to Replace Tablets

In addition to advancements in folding technology, the phone reportedly has the potential to replace tablets and book-style foldables. It is speculated that with the HarmonyOS NEXT operating system and a new Kirin processor, the phone will be capable of running many "PC-level applications," thereby enhancing the company’s ecosystem of products.

However, according to a previous leak, the phone will be expensive and available in limited quantities. The leak suggests that it may serve more as a demonstration of technological prowess rather than a product aimed at capturing a large market share. Reports indicate that the dual-hinge phone will be powered by a Kirin 9 series chipset and will incorporate Huawei’s latest innovations in artificial intelligence. Mass production of the device is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Xiaomi MIJIA Soymilk Maker is now available in China following a successful crowdfunding effort. It was introduced on Xiaomi Youpin last month and can blend dry beans directly without the need for soaking. Additionally, it has a self-cleaning function that operates at the push of a button.

    Advanced Blending Technology

The MIJIA Soymilk Maker is designed to process dry beans directly, eliminating the soaking step. It incorporates three professional blending technologies to handle the beans. A high-speed motor effectively crushes dry and hard ingredients, while a six-blade setup ensures multi-angle chopping. Moreover, the device includes a four-sided spoiler collision system to ensure a smooth and delicate texture. Users can customize soy milk heating curves, with boiling achieved in stages and varying intensity. The large LED screen displays six menus, making it easy to select desired functions. The soy milk maker offers capacity options ranging from 0.6L to 1L to suit different requirements.

    High-Quality Materials and Features

Constructed from durable, food-grade materials, the Xiaomi MIJIA Soymilk Maker ensures safe usage. It features a PP cup lid, a 204 stainless steel cup body, fine steel blades, and a 304 stainless steel heating plate. The device is available in a white colorway and supports a 12-hour reservation and heat preservation feature. The automatic quick cleaning function employs high-temperature sterilization, achieving a 99.99% sterilization rate.

The Xiaomi MIJIA Soymilk Maker is priced at 199 yuan ($29) on JD.com. Currently, there is no information on global availability or pricing for the model.
