Xiaomi has quietly published the product page for its Mijia Body Composition Scale S400 Pro on the company’s global website, signaling that an international launch is approaching. The smart scale has been sold in China since 2024, making this overseas expansion a long-anticipated step. Although it has not yet appeared through official regional retailers, the device can already be sourced via direct import from China.

A Key Hardware Distinction

The S400 Pro sets itself apart from the standard Xiaomi Body Composition Scale S400 with an integrated display built into the glass surface. This screen lets users review current body metrics immediately on the scale, reducing the need to check a companion smartphone app after every weigh-in. Beyond live measurements, the display can also surface historical data, including weight trends over time.

Body Analysis Methodology and Accuracy Considerations

The scale relies on bioelectrical impedance analysis to calculate a range of body composition estimates, such as body fat percentage and muscle mass. Because the S400 Pro lacks hand electrodes, the electrical signal travels primarily through the legs and lower body. This design introduces inherent limitations: results are strongly influenced by an individual’s unique fat and muscle distribution and may not represent whole-body composition with full precision. To enhance signal conductivity, Xiaomi has opted for a conductive indium tin oxide coating across the tempered glass platform instead of traditional metal contact pads.

The device accommodates multiple user profiles and connects via Bluetooth 5.1. It is powered by batteries that can last up to 150 days on a single set, depending on usage patterns.
