Vivo has expanded its tablet lineup in China with the launch of the Pad 5c, a new mid-range model that slots in below the standard Pad 5 and the premium Pad 5 Pro. The device combines a high-refresh-rate display, a capable chipset, and a large battery in a slim chassis, targeting users who want strong media and productivity features without moving to the flagship tier.

Display and Processing Power

The Pad 5c is built around a 12.1-inch panel with a “2.8K” resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, capable of reaching up to 900 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it relies on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, an octa-core processor fabricated on a 4nm process. In independent AnTuTu v10 benchmark testing, the chipset averages roughly 1.4 million points. Vivo has paired the SoC with a 32,200mm² vapor chamber cooling system to sustain performance under load.

Battery, Design, and Cameras

A 10,000mAh battery powers the tablet, supported by 44W wired fast charging. The device measures 6.62 mm thick and weighs 584 grams, making it relatively portable for its screen size. Imaging is handled by an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor. Wireless connectivity includes WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Audio, Accessories, and Software

A quad-speaker setup provides audio output, and the Pad 5c is compatible with the Vivo Pencil 3 stylus and the Vivo Smart Touch Keyboard 5. On the software side, the tablet runs OriginOS 6, based on Android.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo Pad 5c is offered in blue, gray, and green color options. The base configuration, with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, is priced at CNY 2,699 (approximately $397). Stepping up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage brings the cost to CNY 2,999 (around $441), while the top-tier 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage variant is listed at CNY 3,499 (roughly $514).

A Twin Model and Broader Context

In a parallel launch, vivo has also introduced the iQoo Pad 5c in China, which shares the identical core specifications and pricing structure as the Vivo Pad 5c but is available only in gray and silver finishes. This dual-brand approach gives buyers an alternative aesthetic while maintaining the same hardware foundation. The move comes as brands increasingly release closely related models under different sub-brands to address slightly different audiences, a tactic seen elsewhere in the Android tablet market.
