Huawei MatePad Pro Max Arrives in Germany With Ultra-Slim Design and a Glass-Free Finish

Huawei’s MatePad Pro Max officially went on sale in Germany today, landing at a starting price of €1,099 for the Space Gray model. A blue version bundled with the Glide Keyboard is priced at €1,299. This release follows the tablet’s global launch on May 7, 2026, and Huawei is positioning it as the world’s thinnest and lightest device in its category.

Engineering a Thin, Reinforced Frame

At its slimmest point, the standard MatePad Pro Max measures just 4.7 mm and tips the scales at 499 grams. The PaperMatte Edition is marginally heavier at 509 grams. Despite the lean profile, Huawei is citing a 60% improvement in bending resistance compared to the previous generation, a figure validated by the industry’s first TÜV Rheinland Ultra-thin Bending Resistance Certification.

A Quiet Display and a Quiet Keyboard

The tablet centers on a 13.2-inch Flexible OLED PaperMatte display with a crisp 3000×2000 resolution. The screen refreshes at 144 Hz, climbs to a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, and relies on nano-level etching to cut down reflections. Bezels are held to just 3.55 mm, pushing the screen-to-body ratio to 94%. The optional Glide Keyboard offers a six-row layout with 1.8 mm key travel and features an integrated stylus slot that wirelessly charges the M-Pencil Pro.

Connectivity and Charging

Under the hood, the device runs on a 10,400 mAh battery and supports 66 W fast charging along with 40 W wired reverse charging for powering other accessories. Wireless standards cover Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NearLink, and USB-C 3.1.

Software and a Timed Launch Offer

HarmonyOS 4.3 ships on the MatePad Pro Max, bringing Live Multitask capabilities that allow three apps to run simultaneously side by side. The system also includes a PC-level version of WPS Office with AI-assisted editing tools for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

Customers who order through the Huawei Online Store or the Berlin flagship store before July 31 will receive a 12-month warranty extension, a complimentary pair of FreeBuds Pro 4, the M-Pencil Pro, and a €100 discount voucher. The bundled extras represent a significant added value for early buyers in the competitive premium tablet segment, where the MatePad Pro Max’s slender build and glass-free display set it apart from similarly sized OLED rivals.
