Motorola has officially launched the Moto Tag 2 in the United States, bringing its latest ultra-wideband (UWB) tracking accessory to the domestic market at an introductory price of $19.99. The company has confirmed that this promotional rate will later rise to the standard $29.99. The device is broadly compatible with smartphones running Android 9 or later, ensuring seamless integration with current flagship handsets.

A UWB Tracker Built for the Android Ecosystem

Unveiled earlier this year at CES 2026 as the follow-up to the original Moto Tag, the new model arrives with a suite of hardware and software upgrades aimed squarely at closing the functionality gap for Android users. Chief among these is support for Google’s Find Hub network, which enables highly precise location tracking when the tag is near other devices on the crowded crowd-sourced network. This capability positions the Moto Tag 2 as one of the strongest analogs to the AirTag experience available for the Android platform.

The tracker is being offered in two distinct finishes: Pantone Arabesque and Pantone Laurel Oak.

Deeper Hardware Integration and Privacy Safeguards

Under the hood, the Moto Tag 2 incorporates Bluetooth 6.0 with Channel Sounding technology alongside UWB, a combination designed to deliver more accurate directional finding and proximity awareness. Durability is also a priority, with an IP68 rating certifying that the device is fully protected against dust ingress and can withstand submersion in up to 1.5 meters of fresh water. On the security front, Motorola has equipped the tag with end-to-end encryption and built-in unwanted tracking alerts, addressing long-standing privacy concerns associated with compact location trackers.

Regional Pricing and Bulk Purchase Options

The U.S. introductory price represents a substantial discount compared to the tracker’s debut in several European markets, where it launched at £29.99 in the UK and approximately €40 in regions including Finland, France, and Germany. For consumers looking to outfit multiple belongings, a four-pack of the Moto Tag 2 is available directly through Motorola’s online store for $69.99, which maintains the lower per-unit cost during the launch window.
