Lenovo has quietly broadened its ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 lineup with new processor configurations, more than a year after the previous generation reached the market. The 14-inch business notebook was already offered with AMD Ryzen AI 400 series chips and Intel Panther Lake silicon. Now, the company is introducing more affordable variants built around Intel’s Wildcat Lake platform, first spotted in regional listings last week.

Regional rollout and entry-level specifications

For now, the new Wildcat Lake models are not part of a global launch. Instead, Lenovo is selling the updated ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 in Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore. The entry point in most of these markets is the Intel Core 5 315, a six-core processor combining two Cougar Cove performance cores and four Darkmont low-power efficiency cores, with maximum clock speeds of 4.4 GHz and 3.3 GHz respectively.

Pricing reflects a distinct regional structure. The Core 5 315 configuration starts at AUD 1,438 in Australia, HKD 9,540 in Hong Kong, MYR 6,252 in Malaysia, and SGD 2,307 (approximately $1,787) in Singapore. A step-down Core 3 304 option is available in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore—but not Australia—dropping one performance core for a total of five cores and a lower peak P-core frequency.

Pricing overlaps and higher-tier options

The new Wildcat Lake configurations arrive at price points that overlap significantly with versions powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 400 series, which remain available across the same regions. By comparison, Intel Panther Lake models command a premium, starting at AUD 1,817 in Australia, HKD 10,880 in Hong Kong, MYR 5,469 in Malaysia, and SGD 2,104 (roughly $1,630) in Singapore.

Buyers seeking more performance can configure the ThinkPad E14 Gen 8 with up to the Core 7 350 processor, the second-fastest chip in the Wildcat Lake range, sitting just below the Core 7 360. Across the board, the laptop supports up to 32 GB of RAM, a 1 TB solid-state drive, and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity. Lenovo offers a choice between a 48 Wh or a 64 Wh battery to balance weight and runtime.

Display options and shared limitations

Two display configurations are available, differentiated solely by touch support. Both rely on 1200p IPS panels with a peak brightness of 400 nits, a standard 60 Hz refresh rate, and 45% NTSC colour gamut coverage. These shared specifications mean that even the higher-tier processor variants offer the same visual experience, leaving colour-accurate work to external monitors. Full configuration details and regional availability can be found on Lenovo’s local websites.
