System76 has officially opened global pre-orders for its new Adder Pro laptop, a high-performance machine built around Intel’s latest Panther Lake architecture. While the Colorado-based company disclosed key specifications earlier this month, pricing remained under wraps until now. The Adder Pro starts at $2,499 and is currently offered exclusively with Intel’s Core Ultra 7 356H, a 16-core processor.

Default Configuration and Processor Details

The base model combines the Core Ultra 7 356H with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 solid-state drive. This processor appears in a growing number of modern systems, though System76 positions the Adder Pro as a Linux-first gaming and content creation laptop with user-serviceable components. Memory and storage are both replaceable, and the motherboard includes a second M.2 slot for expansion.

Memory, Storage, and Graphics Options

Buyers can upgrade the memory to 32 GB, 64 GB, or the full 96 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. Storage can be increased to a 4 TB PCIe Gen 4 drive, delivering sequential read speeds up to 7,450 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,900 MB/s. For graphics, System76 requires selecting a discrete GPU. The choices include Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 and the GeForce RTX 5070 with 8 GB of VRAM.

A fully configured Adder Pro—featuring 96 GB of RAM, a 4 TB SSD, and the RTX 5070—reaches $5,272.

Connectivity, Display, and Battery

Wireless connectivity is handled by a replaceable modem that supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 by default. The display and battery, however, are fixed. Every Adder Pro ships with a 15.3-inch OLED panel running at a 1600p resolution, powered by a 60 Wh battery. Neither component can be upgraded or swapped. System76’s new offering enters a competitive market for Linux-compatible laptops with modern connectivity and high-refresh-rate OLED displays, bringing a notable degree of internal flexibility to the segment.
