Marshall has unveiled a special edition of its Acton III home speaker to commemorate six decades since a legendary musician first used the company’s amplification. The new release blends the standard model’s internal components with a cosmetic redesign that draws heavily from the era’s psychedelic aesthetic.
Aesthetic inspired by a rock icon
The limited-run Acton III replaces the usual finish with crushed purple velvet wrapping the cabinet. Silver-toned control elements sit above a side panel stamped with an “Eye of God” symbol, while additional psychedelic artwork across the enclosure reinforces the visual tribute. These choices reference the distinctive style associated with Jimi Hendrix, who adopted Marshall amplifiers early in his career.
Unchanged audio hardware and connectivity
Inside, the speaker retains the same driver configuration as the regular Acton III: a 30-watt woofer works alongside two angled 15-watt tweeters feeding an updated waveguide, which Marshall says delivers wider sound dispersion. Users can adjust bass and treble via physical controls or the Marshall Bluetooth app. Wireless connectivity runs over Bluetooth 5.2 with Auracast support for multi-speaker streaming, while a 3.5-millimeter auxiliary input provides a wired option. The company notes that Wi-Fi and a built-in microphone are not included.
Materials and pricing
Marshall states that the speaker is constructed from 70 percent recycled plastic and uses PVC-free, vegan materials. The Marshall x Hendrix 60th Anniversary Acton III is priced at $299.99 in the United States and £299 in the United Kingdom. By comparison, the standard Acton III, which offers identical acoustic performance, is currently available at a discounted price of $225 through select retailers.
