A fresh set of high-resolution images of the Nothing Ear (3a) has surfaced online less than 24 hours before the earbuds’ official launch on Tuesday, July 7. The photographs, which appear to stem from a retailer error, show the device in white, yellow, pink, and black color variants.

Familiar design with a transparent signature

The visual identity of the new model remains remarkably close to its predecessor, the Nothing Ear (a). Nothing continues its design tradition of fitting the charging case with a transparent lid, making it possible to check whether the earbuds are seated inside without opening it. The earbuds adopt a conventional in-ear silhouette, combining an opaque main body with a section crafted from clear plastic, in line with the company’s established aesthetic.

Audio codec support and touch-controlled features

Based on early marketing materials, the fully wireless Ear (3a) will be built around 12-millimeter dynamic drivers. Bluetooth audio quality receives a notable boost through support for Sony’s LDAC codec, which is capable of delivering 32-bit/96 kHz streams at a maximum compressed bitrate of 990 kbit/s. A touch-sensitive zone on the stem extends functionality beyond playback control, allowing users to capture voice memos by tapping the earbuds.

Competitive pricing and noise cancellation outlook

The previous generation already included active noise cancellation, and the Ear (3a) is widely expected to retain that feature. If confirmed, the combination of ANC and LDAC support would position the earbuds aggressively at their rumored launch price of €99.
