Marshall has officially introduced the next generation of its popular home speaker line, unveiling the Acton IV and Stanmore IV. The launch arrives four years after the debut of their predecessors and brings a host of redesigned internal components and modernized features.
Pricing Held Steady Across the Range
In a notable move given broader economic trends, Marshall is keeping the retail prices unchanged from the previous generation. The Acton IV is priced at €299, while the larger Stanmore IV costs €399. Both models are available immediately through the company’s official website, with wider retail availability expected in the coming days and weeks.
Redesigned Acoustics and User Experience
The upgrades extend across nearly every aspect of the speakers, from sound reproduction to physical design. Marshall has optimized the tweeters and waveguides to create a more immersive and evenly distributed soundstage. The bass port has also been re-engineered, featuring improved airflow that delivers cleaner, more powerful low-end performance.
The iconic brass control panel retains its signature rotary knobs and toggle power switch but now incorporates updated media controls. For users positioning the speakers against a wall, a new underside cable routing path helps maintain a tidy appearance. The cabinets themselves are constructed from wood sourced entirely from FSC-certified forests, and several external components—including the grille, control knobs, and feet—are designed to be replaceable.
Modern Connectivity and Smart Features
Vinyl enthusiasts gain a significant upgrade with the inclusion of built-in RCA and AUX inputs, allowing a turntable to be connected directly without additional hardware. Marshall has also incorporated audio technologies from its latest products, including Adaptive Loudness, which automatically boosts bass at lower volume levels to preserve a full sound profile. Auracast support enables users to link multiple Acton IV and Stanmore IV units together for a synchronized multi-speaker setup.
The Stanmore IV remains physically larger than its sibling, housing a 5-inch woofer compared to the 4-inch woofer found in the Acton IV. Both models are equipped with two 0.75-inch tweeters. Amplification is handled by a 60-watt amplifier for the woofer and individual 25-watt Class D amplifiers for each tweeter. Supported audio codecs include SBC, MPEG-2 AAC, LC3, and LDAC, ensuring high-quality wireless streaming across a variety of devices.
