Fiio has officially launched the Snowsky Echo Nano, a portable Hi-Res Audio player and USB DAC that draws clear inspiration from a classic era of personal audio. The device is now shipping via major online retailers in a choice of four colors—Green, Pink, Sky Blue, and White—priced at $49.99.
Compact Build with a Retro Silhouette
The new player adopts an unmistakably slim, pocket-friendly profile, measuring 83.5 x 23 x 14 mm (3.29 x 0.91 x 0.55 inches), roughly comparable to a standard lighter. Its chassis is CNC-machined from an aluminum-magnesium alloy, giving it a solid feel at a total weight of just 33.5 grams (1.18 ounces). A protected metal control knob sits at one end, with a 3.5 mm headphone output at the other. The side-mounted 0.91-inch multi-line OLED display is an intentional nod to the Sony Network Walkman NW-S600 and NW-S700F series first seen in 2006, blending nostalgic industrial design with contemporary internals.
Modern Audio Hardware Inside
Storage relies entirely on microSD cards, with support for capacities up to 256 GB. The Echo Nano handles a broad range of audio codecs, including MP3, M4A, and OGG files, as well as high-resolution formats such as DSD256 and 192 kHz/24-bit WAV, FLAC, and APE. Power is supplied by a 360 mAh battery, which Fiio rates for up to seven hours of continuous playback.
Certified Sound and External DAC Function
At the core of the Snowsky Echo Nano is a Cirrus Logic CS43131 MasterHIFI D/A converter, earning the player official Sony Hi-Res Audio certification. Driving standard 32-ohm headphones through its 3.5 mm jack, the unit delivers 32 mW per channel, with total harmonic distortion specified below 0.0003% and a signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 129 dB. Beyond standalone playback, the device functions as an external USB sound card when connected to computers, phones, tablets, or game consoles that support USB UAC protocol.
