A limited-edition Spider-Man timepiece from Citizen, first previewed earlier this month for the UK market, has now officially launched in the United States under the name “Spider-Man Swings.” The watch retains all the key details from its initial appearance: a 43 mm case crafted from ion-plated stainless steel, Citizen’s light-powered Eco-Drive movement, and a dial scene depicting Spider-Man in mid-swing above a city skyline.
Artwork Rooted in Marvel History
The dynamic dial illustration is the work of Adam Kubert, a veteran Marvel artist whose career spans decades. This model marks the newest chapter in a collaboration between Citizen and Marvel that began in 2018. In keeping with the earlier announcement, the design features an embossed luminous web pattern that becomes visible in darkness. Turning the watch over reveals a caseback engraved with “THWIP”—the iconic onomatopoeia from the comics—along with the standard Marvel copyright notice. A matching collectible pin is included in the box.
A Collector’s Release with Precise Timing
Production is capped at 1,500 units worldwide, positioning the watch firmly as a collector’s item rather than a mass-market offering. In the United States, the official price is set at $525, a figure that lands well above the $250–$350 range suggested by comparable Marvel-themed Eco-Drive watches when the model was first announced. Citizen has aligned the official launch to land close to August 1, which is widely celebrated as National Spider-Man Day. Buyers who place orders promptly can expect delivery as early as July 27.
