Anbernic is set to launch the RG35XX Pro in just a few days. The company has already announced the release date and the surprisingly affordable price for its upcoming 3.5-inch gaming handheld. Now, they have shifted their focus back to the RG Slide, which they officially confirmed just last week.

Device Design and Control Layout

Previously, Anbernic only showed the RG Slide from the front and back views. This time, they have revealed more details about its control layout, including a large d-pad and joysticks that seem to be a bit on the smaller side. Additionally, the device features in-line triggers that are likely to provide a fairly short travel experience.

Display Specifications

The RG Slide will come equipped with a 4.7-inch LTPS IPS display sourced from BOE. Reportedly customized by Anbernic in some manner, the sub-5-inch screen boasts a resolution of 1,280 x 960 pixels and offers refresh rate options of 60 Hz, 90 Hz, and 120 Hz. Furthermore, this compact display has a contrast ratio of 1,200:1, peak brightness of 500 nits, and supports multi-touch, featuring full OCA lamination to minimize reflections.

Emulation Capabilities

Anbernic claims that the RG Slide can emulate games up to the Nintendo Wii, which suggests it may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset from the RG557 (currently priced at $339 on Amazon). Unlike some of its other devices, the RG Slide will run on Android instead of Anbernic’s Linux distribution. For more information, please check the video below.
