In July 2024, Acer made a significant decision to come back into the Indian smartphone scene. The first phones under the “Acerone” brand are now visible on Acerpure’s official site. Acerpure, which is a part of the Acer Group, will work as the brand’s partner for this new business journey. Acerone Liquid S162E4 Features
The Acerone Liquid S162E4 showcases a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, which makes it quite sturdy. The back of the phone has a 16-megapixel main camera along with a 0.08-megapixel secondary camera, while the front features a 5-megapixel camera. Inside, this device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P35 processor, combined with a 5000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 14, providing a smooth performance. The phone’s dimensions are 165.4 x 76.9 x 8.95mm and it weighs 179 grams.
Acerone Liquid S272E4 Features
On the other hand, the Acerone Liquid S272E4 offers a bigger 6.7-inch HD+ LCD display, reaching a peak brightness of 350 nits, also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The rear camera is loaded with a 20-megapixel main sensor and a 0.3-megapixel secondary sensor, while the front camera is the same 5-megapixel unit. This device is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G36 processor and, like the S162E4, features a 5000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. It also operates on Android 14 and measures 171 x 78.6 x 8.9mm, weighing in at 200 grams.
As of now, there is no word on the pricing for these smartphones.
Partnership with Indkal Technologies
Acer’s comeback in India is fueled by its collaboration with Indkal Technologies, a startup in consumer electronics that is based in India. Indkal Technologies has obtained the rights to design, manufacture, and distribute Acer smartphones within the country. The firm, which has been producing Acer’s home appliances in India since 2021, will also manufacture these smartphones locally. To support this expansion, Indkal Technologies secured $36 million in their latest round of funding to boost product development and manufacturing capabilities. This partnership aims to deliver smartphones of high quality at affordable prices, particularly targeting the mid-range market. The expected price range for these smartphones is between Rs 15,000 and Rs 50,000, making them accessible to a wide variety of consumers.
