Xiaomi is set to unveil the Redmi Note 14 series on September 26 in China, coinciding with the global launch of the 14T lineup. The company has been building excitement around these new mid-range smartphones for some time, and in recent teasers, it has disclosed important details regarding the SoC and battery for the 14 Pro+.
Performance Details
The flagship model in this lineup will be equipped with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, making the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ the first device to feature this new Qualcomm chip. In a Weibo announcement, Xiaomi highlighted that this processor promises a "smooth experience" while maintaining "low power consumption."
This post also revealed insights into the performance capabilities of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. According to Xiaomi, the Note 14 Pro+, powered by this SoC, can run the popular game Honor of Kings at a stable 120 FPS. Based on Qualcomm's specifications, the new chip is anticipated to deliver 40% faster GPU performance, 20% better CPU performance, and 12% enhanced power efficiency compared to the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
Battery and Charging Features
Another significant detail shared is regarding the battery of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+. Xiaomi confirmed that this premium device will come with a substantial 6,200 mAh battery, a notable upgrade from the 5,000 mAh battery found in the Note 13 Pro+.
However, it’s worth mentioning that while the previous model supported fast charging at 120W, the Note 14 Pro+ will have a maximum charging speed of 90W (Anker 100W GaN charger currently priced at $49.99 on Amazon). Thus, the charging capability sees a slight reduction. Additionally, Xiaomi has previously announced that the entire series will boast IP69 certification and Gorilla Glass Victus 2, enhancing the durability of these new mid-range Android devices.
