Xiaomi recently unveiled several new devices at its annual speech event, including the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 book-style foldable, the more compact Xiaomi Mix Flip, the Xiaomi Smart Band 9, and the Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 has been significantly improved in terms of impact resistance, boasting a 300% increase compared to its predecessor. It is remarkably lightweight at 226g and measures just 4.59mm in thickness when unfolded and 9.47mm when folded. For comparison, the newly launched Honor Magic V3 is 4.35mm thick when unfolded and 9.2mm when folded.
Innovative Materials
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is Xiaomi's first phone to incorporate a carbon fiber structure internally. Components like the hinge floating plate, screen lining, and middle plate battery compartment utilize T800H high-strength carbon fiber material, enhancing the device's impact resistance by 300%. This carbon fiber material boasts a tensile strength of 5500MPa, which is 13 times stronger than 6M42 aluminum alloy and 25 times stronger than ordinary aluminum alloy. Additionally, it is incredibly lightweight, weighing just 1/15 of 6M42 aluminum alloy. This contributes to a 29g reduction in the device's weight compared to its predecessor.
Display and Performance
The device features a 7.98″ 2224 x 2488 foldable LTPO AMOLED panel capable of reaching a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The cover display measures 6.56″ and offers the same peak brightness, with a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels (21:9). The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 operates on HyperOS based on Android 14 and is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The device comes with up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM.
