1. Vivo is collaborating with Sony to use the new LYT-828 camera sensor in its upcoming X300 series smartphones.
2. The X300 series will feature a new 200 MP sensor from Samsung for telephoto photography, alongside Vivo’s VS1 and V3+ chips.
3. The official announcement for the Vivo X300 series is expected in October, with an initial launch exclusive to China.

Less than a week ago, Vivo shared some exciting news about upgrades for its upcoming X300 series smartphones. During a recent launch event, the company revealed that it will be collaborating with Sony to incorporate the new LYT-828 camera sensor into its future flagship models.

Camera Enhancements

In addition to this, Vivo hinted at adding a new 200 MP sensor from Samsung, which will work alongside its VS1 and V3+ in-house chips. Unlike the sensors used in the Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy S25 Ultra, or the Galaxy S25 Edge (currently priced at $969 on Amazon), it appears that Vivo plans to use this sensor mainly for telephoto photography. According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the official announcement of the Vivo X300 series is expected to happen in October.

Launch Plans

Brar notes that this initial launch will be exclusive to China. However, he also suggests that an Indian release could follow by early December, similar to what happened with the X Fold5 earlier this summer. Currently, it looks like Vivo will introduce the X300 and X300 Pro at the same time, both featuring MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset. As MediaTek is allegedly planning a Dimensity 9500 launch event for late September, it wouldn’t be surprising if Oppo managed to release the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro with the same chipset before Vivo showcases its X300 duo.
