As the iPhone 16 sets the stage for fall product unveilings, Android manufacturers are preparing their responses.
OnePlus has already announced its flagship device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for October, and Xiaomi is also expected to release its 15 series featuring the same chip within the same timeframe.
Vivo's New Approach
According to a report from Wall Street China, Vivo's X200 series is anticipated to launch in early October. However, unlike its competitors, Vivo plans to use a different processor. The X200 series will reportedly opt for MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 instead of the next Snapdragon.
The leaks mention two models in this series: the standard X200 and the X200 Pro. The base model, X200, is predicted to feature a 6.3-inch flat OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution.
Camera and Battery Specifications
In terms of photography, the X200 will likely include a 50-megapixel Sony sensor for its primary camera, a periscope lens offering 3x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide lens. It is expected to be powered by a substantial 5,500mAh or 5,600mAh battery, supporting both wired and wireless charging.
The X200 Pro, in contrast, is anticipated to have a curved display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its rear camera setup will feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, a 50-megapixel primary sensor with a large aperture (likely the same 22nm Sony sensor), and another 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
Enhanced Features and Software
The X200 Pro might also include a larger 6,000mAh battery. Speculation suggests it will feature water resistance with a rating of IP68 or IP69 and a more advanced X-axis motor for enhanced haptic feedback.
On the software front, both phones are expected to run Android 15-based Origin OS. Currently, there is no detailed information on their pricing, even among leaks and rumors.
