Tecno has unveiled the Camon 30 series smartphones in India today. The series comprises the Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G. The latter serves as the successor to last year’s Camon 20 Premier 5G. There are notable differences between the two latest models. The Premier 5G falls within the mid-range category under the Rs 40,000 price bracket. Tecno Camon 30 5G, Camon 30 Premier 5G Specifications
The Tecno Camon 30 series smartphones share similar designs featuring a flat frame and a circular camera module. The back panel sports a folder icon-like design, enhancing its professional camera-like aesthetics. The Camon 30 5G comes with a marble-texture glass finish, while the Camon 30 Premier 5G boasts a suede leather finish.
Both the Tecno Camon 30 5G and Camon 30 Premier 5G flaunt a 6.79-inch LTPO AMOLED display on the front, with a 120Hz refresh rate. The standard model offers FHD+ resolution with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, whereas the Premier version upgrades this to a 1.5K resolution and 1,400 nits peak brightness. Both devices are equipped with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
In terms of cameras, the Tecno Camon 30 5G features a dual rear camera setup with a 100MP main sensor with OIS and a 2MP depth lens. Conversely, the Camon 30 Premier 5G is outfitted with a triple camera system that includes a 50MP main Sony IMX890 OIS sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope unit with a 70mm focal length and up to 60x hyper zoom. Both phones feature a Sony imaging chip and AIGC portrait mode. On the front, both models are equipped with a 50MP selfie camera.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the Tecno Camon 30 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, while the Camon 30 Premier 5G runs on a Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chipset. The former is available in configurations up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, whereas the latter comes in a single variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Both smartphones are fueled by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 70W fast charging. On the software front, they run on Android 14 OS with a promise of three years of OS updates and security patches.
Pricing and Availability
The Tecno Camon 30 5G is priced at Rs 22,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 12GB + 256GB model costs Rs 26,999. The Camon 30 Premier 5G is priced at Rs 39,999 for its sole variant. These smartphones will be available for purchase on Amazon starting May 23. Additionally, ICICI Bank credit cardholders can avail of a Rs 3,000 instant discount on the Camon 30 series. Tecno is also offering a free smartwatch with the purchase of both models.
