AYN Dual-Screen Handheld Gets New Accessory

    Key Takeaway

    – AYN released the Thor Self-adhesive Stylus for the Thor, with an adhesive-sticker storage holder.
    – It costs $9.90 and comes in Black, Grey, White, and Purple.
    – It cannot be included in the $50 Thor Accessories Pack; available separately on AYN’s site.

    AYN Thor Accessory Overview

When the AYN Thor was released in 2025, it launched alongside a handful of accessories that buyers can purchase separately or as a bundle. AYN has now released a brand new accessory for the dual screen Android-powered handheld.

    Introducing the Thor Self-adhesive Stylus

The new accessory is called the Thor Self-adhesive Stylus, and if the name didn’t already give it away, it is a stylus for the Thor. The self-adhesive part of its name is due to AYN including a stylus holder with an adhesive that sticks to the Thor. This way, the stylus can be safely stored when not in use.

    Pricing and Design

Priced at $9.90, the Thor Self-adhesive Stylus looks like a generic stylus with a soft rounded tip. AYN’s decision to launch a stylus follows the tradition of classic dual-screen handhelds such as the Nintendo DS and 3DS handhelds which shipped with a stylus. Rival handheld manufacturer, Anbernic, also ships its dual-screen handheld, the RG DS, with a capacitive stylus. With the stylus, users can play select games that require (precise) touch input.

    Availability and Colors

Buyers can purchase the Thor Self-adhesive stylus from the AYN website in Black, Grey, White, and Purple. Unfortunately, it can’t be purchased as part of the $50 Thor Accessories Pack which includes a lanyard, grip case, screen protector, soft pouch, carrying case, and TPU shell.

AYN Thor and Odin: New Pricing Announced for March 2024

    Key Takeaways

    1. AYN has moved the price increase for the Thor and Odin 3 from April to March 8, 2026, due to supplier cost hikes.
    2. The increase is driven by rising DRAM and storage component prices, along with exchange rate fluctuations.
    3. The Thor Lite will not see a price increase, while the Base model will increase by $10, and the Pro and Max versions by $30 and $40, respectively.
    4. The Odin 3’s Base model will have a $10 increase, with Pro and Max models rising by $40 each.
    5. Existing orders will be honored at the original price, and new pre-orders will start on March 1, 2026.

Just a few days after revealing plans to hike the price of its dual-screen handheld, Thor, in April, AYN has now changed its mind and will implement the increase in March instead. The new pricing details for both the Thor and the Odin 3 were also shared in this announcement.

    Reason for the Price Change

AYN used its Discord channel to share the reason for this change of plans. The company revealed that the supplier of the DRAM and storage components for the Thor and Odin 3 has informed them that the price hike for these parts will take effect this February. Moreover, the issue with memory pricing is anticipated to last until the next year.

Furthermore, AYN mentioned that they face challenges with fluctuations in exchange rates and increased costs for materials. The mix of these issues has forced AYN to move the price increase date forward. Instead of the initially planned April 2026, the new prices for the AYN Thor and AYN Odin 3 will now be effective on March 8, 2026.

    Pricing Details

Here are the launch prices, current prices, and the upcoming new prices that will be applied on March 8.

As noted, AYN is not increasing the price of the Thor Lite, which will stay at its launch price of $249. However, the Base model will see a $10 increase, and the Pro and Max versions will go up by $30 and $40, respectively.

In contrast, the Odin 3 is experiencing its very first price hike. The base model will see a $10 increase, while the Pro and Max models will both increase by $40. AYN also mentioned that the Ultra model, equipped with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, is currently ”out of stock”. It’s unclear whether this means it won’t be produced anymore.

    Pre-Order Information

All existing orders will be processed at the original price. If you haven’t placed your order yet, the next round of pre-orders will start tomorrow, March 1.

AYN Thor Price Increase Alert: New Costs Coming Soon

    Key Takeaways

    1. AYN’s dual-screen handheld, the Thor, is facing another price hike due to rising memory costs.
    2. The price increase is expected in April 2026, although the exact date and amount are unspecified.
    3. Component cost increases are driven by high demand from AI companies, affecting retail prices.
    4. The Thor has four versions: Lite ($249), Base ($309), Pro ($369), and Max ($450), with varying price hikes.
    5. No price changes were announced for the Odin 3, which did not face a hike in January.

Fresh from the Chinese New Year break, AYN brings some not-so-great news regarding their dual-screen handheld, the Thor. Launched in August 2025, this Android gaming device started shipping its initial orders to customers in October that same year.

    Price Hikes On The Horizon

When AYN announced that they would begin taking new orders in January 2026, they also mentioned that the Thor’s price would rise due to increasing memory costs affecting the tech market. Now, AYN is warning of another impending price hike.

According to a post on Discord, AYN shared that their DRAM and storage supplier indicated that memory prices continue to climb, largely due to strong demand from AI companies. Consequently, the costs for the components used in the AYN Thor will also go up.

    Impact On Consumers

Sadly, this rise in component costs will be passed on to consumers, leading to a higher retail price for the Thor.

AYN indicated that this price increase is anticipated to occur in April, though a specific date was not provided. They also refrained from stating the exact amount of the price hike, noting it will depend on how much the component costs increase.

    Variant Pricing Information

To recap, the AYN Thor comes in four different versions — Lite, Base, Pro, and Max. The Thor Lite is listed at $249 and didn’t experience a price hike in January. However, the Thor Base rose from $299 to $309, while the Thor Pro’s price increased from $349 to $369. Meanwhile, the Thor Max saw its price jump from $430 to $450.

AYN did not mention any price change for the Odin 3, which also did not face a price adjustment in January.
