    Display and Design Details

The Galaxy A27 5G has a 6.7-inch display, and while this is the same size as the Galaxy A26 (see our review), there is a major design difference. Gone is the U-shaped notch, replaced by a round cut-out in the center for the front-facing camera. The screen is an FHD+ (1080 × 2340) Super AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

    Core Performance and Storage Options

Powering the Galaxy A27 is a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, this replaces the Exynos 1380 from the previous generation. The spec sheet says the phone has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, but there is also a 256GB version which RAM isn’t stated for. However, earlier leaks revealed the phone will be available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

    5. The launch follows the recent rollout of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Qualcomm has made some updates to its mid-range chipset lineup by introducing a new model in the Snapdragon 6 series. This announcement comes after the rollout of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 last month. The latest addition is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, which arrives more than eight months after the initial launch of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.

    Enhanced Performance

As per Qualcomm, the new 4 nm chipset boasts a CPU that is 36% quicker, featuring four performance cores operating at 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores functioning at 1.8 GHz. Even better, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is claimed to offer a significant 59% boost in GPU performance compared to the “previous generation.” However, Qualcomm has not provided specific details about this improvement.

    Comparison with Previous Models

It seems logical to compare this new model with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, which the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is designed to replace. Interestingly, the part number ‘SM6435-AA’ suggests that the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is related to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (SM6450), which is used in several smartphones like the Honor Magic 7 Lite and Moto G Stylus 5G 2024, currently priced at $199 on Amazon.

    Similarities and Upgrades

In fact, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 retains the same CPU configuration and clock speeds as its predecessor, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. 2. Camera Improvements: The rear camera remains at 50 MP, while the front camera has been upgraded to 12 MP, capable of recording HDR video, although it has a lower megapixel count than the previous model.

    3. Battery and Charging: It includes a 5,000 mAh battery with 45 Watt fast charging, similar to the higher-end Galaxy S models.

    4. Design Changes: The design is slightly thinner and lighter than the Galaxy A35, although most design elements remain unchanged.

    5. Specifications and Availability: The A36 offers up to 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of internal storage (no expandable storage), IP67 dust and water resistance, and AI features. It is available in four colors, starting at EUR 359 for pre-order.

Samsung has recently unveiled their latest mid-range Galaxy A smartphones at MWC 2025. The Galaxy A36 is positioned between the Galaxy A56 and A26. While it shares many specs with its siblings, it brings several meaningful improvements over the previous model.

    Display and Performance Upgrades

To kick things off, the Galaxy A36 features a slightly bigger 6.7 inches (compared to the 6.6-inch display on the Galaxy A35) FHD+ AMOLED screen, boasting a 120 Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. Additionally, it replaces Samsung’s Exynos chip with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. Its battery capacity stands at 5,000 mAh, supporting 45 Watt fast charging, which aligns it with the pricier Galaxy S models.

    Camera and Design Features

In terms of design, most elements of the Galaxy A36 remain unchanged. The rear camera setup still includes a 50 MP main sensor, an 8 MP wide-angle lens, and a 5 MP macro sensor. The front camera now has a 12 MP sensor that can record HDR video. While this might be seen as a step up from the previous 32 MP camera, some users might be disappointed with the reduced megapixel count. The overall design does make the phone slightly thinner and lighter than the Galaxy A35.

    Additional Specifications and Availability

Among the other specifications of the Galaxy A36, you get up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, expandable storage is no longer an option, which is becoming rare in modern phones. However, it does come with a 15% larger vapor chamber for the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 and boasts IP67 dust and water resistance. Plus, it includes AI features such as object recognition, Circle to Search, Auto Trim, and Best Face.

Samsung has made the Galaxy A36 available in four different colors: Lime, Lavender, Black, and White. You can pre-order it now through Samsung’s website, with prices starting at EUR 359.
