Microsoft Launches Xbox Wireless Headset: Dolby Atmos, 20h Battery

The Xbox Wireless Headset has a familiar look, resembling its predecessor (about US$170 on Amazon, Starfield Special Edition), yet it brings several enhancements. Notably, the battery life has extended from 15 hours to 20 hours, and charging through USB-C still requires three hours. While the ear cup dials have lost their green accents, they still allow for separate adjustments for game audio and chat volume.

This new headset now supports Bluetooth 5.3, making it compatible not just with Xbox One or Xbox Series X, but also with PCs and smartphones. Additionally, it offers spatial sound capabilities via Dolby Atmos and DTS Headphone:X.

    Consistent Core Features

Most of the fundamental features remain the same; the Xbox Wireless Headset continues to utilize dynamic drivers with a 40-millimeter diameter, capable of producing a frequency range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The ear pads are made of PU synthetic leather combined with foam cushioning, and the headband is padded as well, ensuring comfort despite the headset’s weight of 312 grams.

    Pricing and Availability

According to the press release, the new Xbox Wireless Headset is available right now for US$109.99, which is the same price listed on the Xbox Store.
