Sony has launched new soundbar speakers in India, expanding its BRAVIA lineup with the Theatre Bar 8 and Theatre Bar 9 models. These products are designed to enhance home entertainment with numerous significant features.
Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 and Bar 8: Specifications
Sony BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8
The Theatre Bar 9 comes with 13 speaker units, while the Bar 8 includes 11 speaker units. Both models boast 360 Spatial Sound courtesy of Sony’s proprietary Sound Mapping technology. Essentially, this means the speakers can create phantom speakers to provide a wide sound field, delivering a cinematic experience without needing additional speakers. The soundbars alone offer 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, but they can also be paired with optional subwoofers and rear speakers.
These soundbars also support gaming optimizations for an immersive experience. Connectivity options include HDMI ARC and Optical Input. Additionally, the BRAVIA Connect app allows users to control the soundbars via their smartphones. Both models feature IMAX Enhanced optimizations, with a 5.0.2 channel on the Bar 8 and 7.0.2 channel support on the Bar 9. This announcement follows the recent launch of Sony’s new BRAVIA 4K HDR display in India.
