Samsung is set to release a new line of Galaxy A-series smartphones, and among them is the upcoming Galaxy A55 5G. The device has recently passed the 3C certification, which sheds some light on its specifications.
Galaxy A55 5G Charging Details
According to the 3C certification, the Galaxy A55 5G, with the model number SM-A5560, will support 15W charging. This charging speed is the same as last year’s Galaxy A54. It is worth noting that Samsung will not be including a charger in the box, following a trend set by other smartphone manufacturers.
The Galaxy A55 5G’s Processor
Although the 3C certification does not provide any further details about the smartphone, previous reports suggest that the Galaxy A55 5G will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1480 processor. This chipset is expected to feature an octa-core architecture with four efficiency cores clocked at 2.05GHz and four performance cores clocked at 2.75GHz. Additionally, it will be equipped with Samsung’s Xclipse 530 GPU, which is likely based on AMD’s RDNA 2 graphics architecture.
Samsung’s Xclipse GPU Series
Samsung’s Xclipse series is the brand name for their GPUs based on AMD’s graphics architecture. The Xclipse 9xx series, which is based on AMD’s RDNA3 architecture, is currently used for high-end GPUs. On the other hand, the Xclipse 5xx series is likely intended for mid-range models and may be based on the RDNA 2 architecture. The Exynos 2200 features the Xclipse 920, while the Exynos 2400 has the Xclipse 940, which will be used in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ models.
