Samsung has discreetly released its newest budget-friendly smartphone, the Galaxy A06, in Vietnam. After a series of leaks, the official announcement confirms expectations: the A06 presents only slight enhancements compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A05. Let's delve into the specifics.
Samsung Galaxy A06 Specifications
The standout modification in the Galaxy A06 lies in its display and design. While maintaining the 6.7-inch screen of the previous model, the refresh rate has been upgraded to 90Hz from the A05’s 60Hz, offering a minor yet significant improvement.
Design and Features
In terms of design, the device features the “Key Island” look common to earlier Galaxy A-series models. This design includes a protrusion on the right side where both the volume control and fingerprint sensor are located.
Internally, the A06 retains the MediaTek Helio G85 processor from the A05. It is available with either 64GB or 128GB of storage, coupled with 4GB or 6GB RAM options. The camera setup remains unchanged, featuring a primary 50MP sensor along with a secondary sensor.
Battery and Software
The phone is shipped with the latest Android version, expected to be Android 14. However, there are no mentions of any AI features. Security is ensured by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W charging.
Price and Availability
In Vietnam, the Galaxy A06 is priced at VND 3,190,000 (approximately $127) for the 4GB+64GB version and VND 3,790,000 (about $151) for the 6GB+128GB model.
Sales start next week, and customers who purchase between August 22 and September 30 will receive a complimentary 25W wall charger. This promotion is particularly useful since Samsung doesn’t include a charger in the package. There is currently no information regarding the availability of the A06 in other regions.
