Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim: New Camera Tech for Enhanced Zoom

The Galaxy S25 Slim has been making waves as the potential fourth addition to the Galaxy S25 family, which also includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. This smartphone is generating a lot of buzz since Samsung seems to be stepping outside of its comfort zone. The S25 Slim is set to become the slimmest flagship phone from Galaxy yet, and it may go head-to-head with the anticipated iPhone 17 Air. Even with its ultra-thin design, there are whispers that Samsung could manage to incorporate a periscope telephoto camera into the S25 Slim, a feature that won’t be available in the standard S25 or S25+ models.

Unconfirmed Speculations

However, it’s still unclear if these rumors hold any truth. As per insights from Meritz Securities, a South Korean research firm (reported by @Jukanlosreve), Samsung is reportedly planning to integrate a legitimate periscope module. But, the technology utilized for the 5x telephoto lens seen in the Galaxy S25 Ultra is too large for the S25 Slim’s slimmed-down body. Thus, it seems that Samsung may be developing a new approach altogether. Recently, Samsung unveiled its "All Lenses on Prism (ALoP)" technology, designed to create periscope modules that are only slightly bigger than traditional smartphone cameras.

Innovative Camera Features

Samsung claims this new camera technology can cut down the length of the periscope module by 22%, while also reducing its height and the camera bump, which is a big plus for thinner smartphones. Those who are worried about a potential dip in image quality will likely be happy, as Samsung assures improved brightness along with an f/2.58 aperture at an equivalent focal length of 80mm. Current projections indicate that Samsung aims to sell around 3 million units of the Galaxy S25 Slim, which seems modest compared to the ambitious target of 37 million units for the other three S25 models.
