Samsung has reveal the Galaxy S25 series during the first Unpacked event of 2025. Among the trio of new devices, there’s the Galaxy S25+, which, similar to its non-Plus counterpart, doesn’t feature many hardware improvements compared to the previous model. The main upgrade worth noting is the introduction of the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy
This new chip, known as Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, has not been fully explained by Samsung regarding its differences from the standard version of the SoC. However, it is anticipated to be an overclocked version. This change is expected to improve performance during heavy usage, with Samsung highlighting enhancements in ray tracing capabilities and the Vulkan Engine that should boost gaming performance.
Camera Specifications
When it comes to the camera, the setup remains unchanged from the Galaxy S24 Plus. The rear continues to feature a 50MP main sensor along with a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto lens. On the front, there’s a 12MP camera for selfies. Samsung asserts that all devices in the Galaxy S25 series, including the S25+, are designed to perform better than their predecessors in low-light photography and videography.
The overall photography capabilities are also said to have improved thanks to software updates. Additionally, the Galaxy S25 Plus, like the rest of the new lineup, includes various “personalized AI features” powered by the Personal Data Engine, which are aimed at providing a more customized user experience.
Additional Features and Pricing
Other notable features of the Galaxy S25 Plus are a 4,900mAh battery that supports QC 2.0 and Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, a 6.7-inch QHD+ display, 12GB of RAM, and storage options of up to 512GB. It runs on One UI 7 and has a slightly lighter weight compared to the previous model. In the European market, the launch price starts at €1,149, the same as the S24+.
