Samsung Galaxy A16 Specs Leaked: 4G and 5G Models Listed

Samsung is preparing to introduce the Galaxy A16, available in both 4G and 5G versions, featuring significant enhancements from the previous model. A listing from a European retailer has disclosed its full specifications.

Display and Design Improvements

According to the listings, the Galaxy A16 features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display, an increase from the A15's 6.5 inches. It offers Full HD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels) with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a maximum brightness of 800 nits. This model is the first in Samsung’s A1X series to have an IP54 rating, meaning it is resistant to splashes and dust. Furthermore, the phone's thickness has been reduced to 7.9 mm, down from the previous 8.4 mm.

Performance Specifications

The 4G model is likely to run on the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset, while the 5G version will feature Samsung’s Exynos 1330 in Europe. In other regions, such as India and Thailand, the 5G variant may be equipped with the Dimensity 6300 SoC. Both models are set to come with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, with no other memory configurations expected for the European market.

Camera and Battery Features

For photography, the Galaxy A16 includes a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2 MP macro lens on the back, along with a 13 MP selfie camera at the front. Powering the device is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25 W charging.

Additionally, the Galaxy A16 series is slated to receive six years of software support, which encompasses operating system upgrades and security patches, ensuring long-term value for the users. While the exact launch date remains uncertain, leaks suggest a potential release in December 2024.
