Samsung is developing a new addition to its Galaxy A-series lineup. The upcoming Galaxy A16 5G has been identified in the IMEI database and on the UK carrier EE. Recently, the device also appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking site, which has provided insights into its key hardware specifications. The Galaxy A16 5G is set to follow in the footsteps of last year’s Galaxy A15 5G.
Samsung Galaxy A16 5G on Geekbench
On Geekbench, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is registered under the model number SM-A166P. The database indicates a motherboard with the codename a16xm, featuring six cores running at 2GHz and two cores at 2.40GHz. This configuration points to a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. The listing shows that the device comes with 6GB of RAM, though additional variants might be available at launch. The smartphone will operate on Android 14 OS right out of the box.
In Geekbench’s performance tests, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G achieved scores of 512 for single-core and 1,464 for multi-core. While the benchmarking platform does not provide further details, the UK carrier listing hints that a 4G variant of the Galaxy A16 might also be released.
