Earlier this month, it was reported that Samsung is developing two budget-friendly Galaxy smartphones. Among them, the Galaxy A06 was spotted on the IMEI certification website. Recently, the device, identified by the model number SM-A065F, has surfaced on the Geekbench benchmarking platform and received WiFi Alliance certification. The latter also confirms the name of this forthcoming model.
Samsung Galaxy A06 appears on Geekbench and WiFi Alliance
According to Geekbench, the Samsung Galaxy A06 is listed with the ARM MT6769V/CZ motherboard. This setup includes eight cores with a base clock speed of 1.80GHz, suggesting that the device will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, the same chipset found in the Galaxy A05. The Geekbench listing also indicates that the device will come with 6GB of RAM, although more configurations might be available at launch. The smartphone will run on Android 14 OS right out of the box.
The benchmarks reveal that the Galaxy A06 scores 1,664 points in the single-core test and 5,326 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. Furthermore, the WiFi Alliance certification indicates that the device will support dual-band WiFi 5. This is all the information available about the smartphone at the moment, but more details are likely to emerge in the coming weeks.
